Carlyn Jarm

A memorial service for Carlyn Mae Jarm (also known as Babe to the Nagel family), 75, of Roswell will be at 10:00 AM, Monday, March 21, 2016, at First United Methodist Church, 200 N Pennsylvania Ave Roswell, New Mexico. Laird and Tina Cross will officiate. Carlyn was born on September 5, 1940, to Harold Nagel and Vera Schacht-Nagel. She went home to be with her Lord, March 14, 2016. Her husband, Ron, father, mother, and eldest brother have preceded her in death. Carlyn is survived by her son, David M Jarm, wife Nonie; grandson, Dylan Jarm; son, Christopher H. Jarm and wife, Veronica; grandson, Christopher A Jarm; stepmother, Emma Nagel of Iowa; brothers, Lynn Nagel and wife, Donna of Iowa; sister, Kathy Harmon and husband, Bob of South Dakota; brother, Kenneth Nagel and wife, Arlys of South Dakota. Additionally surviving Carlyn are numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. Carlyn was a kind and loving wife, mother, sister and dear friend. She was a very faithful Christian in all aspects of her life, and had great pride and loyalty to her families at home, church, work, and friends. She led a very fulfilled life and could accomplish anything she put her mind to. Those accomplishments are far to great to list all of them. Her greatest though, was her marriage of 51 years, to Ronald Jarm and her sons, with all the joys they brought her. Her career of 37 years in the oil and gas industry with Harvey E. Yates Company (Heyco) was equally impressive. At the time of her death she held the title of Corporate Records Manager. As an honored and trusted employee, she was asked to be Corporate Secretary for all Heyco Family of entities. She was always involved in many clubs throughout the years, but amongst her favorites were: The 1941 Book Club and The Red Hat Society. Since 1970, she also was an honored member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority Chapter, and was active in the Beta Sigma Phi City Council. In 1982, she was president of Roswell Desk and Derrick, which is industry education for oil and gas. Carlyn was a very loyal Christian to her beautiful church, First United Methodist. She did not just attend every Sunday, but also sang in the Chancel Choir, was a member of the Searchers Sunday School Class and served on the AD council for many years. In addition to hosting and attending numerous events with her church family. Between her family, work family, church family, sorority sisters and clubs, Carlyn touched lives of so many people and inspired us all to live as she did, simply, lovingly, and kindly. Carlyn Mae Jarm will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to have known her. In lieu of flowers the family request that memorials be made to the Chancel Choir Ministry or the Cowboy Bell Scholarship fund at First United Methodist Church, 200 N Pennsylvania Avenue Roswell NM 88201.
