Domingo Garcia

Domingo (Mike) Garcia, 82, passed away on November 30, 2015. He was born on October 29, 1932, in Arabela, NM. Working on his father’s ranch and other ranches as a cowhand, Mike could rope a cow or horse with just one throw. At a young age, Mike moved to Arizona, where he worked many odd jobs including picking fruit and driving a delivery truck. After moving to Roswell in 1961, Mike learned the trade of cement finishing, which he did for 30 years. He worked with a lot of good men that would consider him to be a professional master cement finisher. Mike enjoyed working on the ranch with his horses, being in the mountains, and deer hunting. His greatest joy was spending time with family and friends. He was a kind man and would help anyone who needed it. Mike was a great father and grandfather and he will be greatly missed by his family. Preceding Mike in death were his wife, Josephina Garcia; siblings: Martina Pacheco, Pauline Licon, Jose Barela, Rogue Varela, Racquel Marquez, Erminia Hitzges, Inez Garcia and Floyd Garcia. Those left to carry on his heritage are sons: Mike Garcia and wife Delida, Bobby Garcia and Patrick Garcia, Miguel, Arturo, Margarito and Santos; daughters, Sonya Pearce and husband Guy, Irma, Annabelle and MaryLou; grandchildren: Celeste Torres and husband Joel, Victoria Pruitt, Serena Garcia, Sabastion Garcia, Robert Pearce and Gennifur Pearce; great-grandsons: twins, Jonathon Torres and Joel Torres Jr, Sabastion Garcia and Robert Pearce; great-granddaughters: Ariana, Anyssa, Janessa, Audria, and Samantha, Pruitt; stepson, James Fierro. Also surviving Mike are siblings: Manuel Garcia, Lorie Gonzales and O.G. Norfre Robles. A viewing will be held on Friday, December 4, 2015, 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, at Anderson Bethany Funeral Home. The Rosary will follow at 6:00 PM. A funeral service honoring Mike’s life is scheduled on Saturday, December 5, 2015, 10:00 AM, also at Anderson Bethany Funeral Home. Burial will follow at South Park Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be Tommy Garcia, Bobby Garcia, Robert Pearce, Joel Torres Jr. and Jonathon Torres. Pallbearers will be Mike Garcia, Guy Pearce, Sabastion Garcia, Tony Garcia, James Fierro and Ben Gonzales.
