Obituary for Iva C. Espinoza Funeral services for Iva C. Espinoza, 92, of Roswell will be held at 2 pm Friday, Dec. 28, 2007, at Anderson-Bethany Funeral Home with Cecil Kimberlin, Vista Care Hospice Chaplin, officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Lawn Memorial Park. Iva passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home Monday, Dec. 24, 2007. Iva was born on February 7, 1915 to Alexander Callaham and Josephine Smith Callaham in Heron, Oklahoma. Iva is the last surviving member of her immediate family, she was preceded in death by her three brothers, Jesse, Henry and Ralph Callaham, four sisters, Ethyl Callaham, Adeline “Sally” Hanson, Lillie Trammel, and Vivian “Dutch” Schoonover, and her parents. Iva and Joe A. Espinoza were married on October 18, 1956 in Clovis, NM and on Dec. 24, 1968 he met his untimely death at St. Mary’s Hospital. Iva “Nanny” was a beautiful person who always reminded us that she’d “been in the kitchen since 5:00 a.m.” She vowed that she’d “always give you a place to stay and something to eat.” She started everyday with a hot cup of coffee and often told us that she hoped they serve coffee in heaven and had electric blankets. Iva is survived by two daughters, Iva-Jo Martinez and her husband, Mike, of Roswell and Felicia Musick and her partner, Tony Sisneros, of Midway, NM; nine grandchildren, Joaquin and Shelly Nieto, Marissa and Marcus Gonzales, Rose and Fredrik Jansson, Gabriel and Nora Nieto, Victoria Woody, Azure Espinoza and Juan Dominguez, Amber and Jessie Miller, John Christopher Musick and Pamela Gonzales, and Anna Christine Musick; twenty great-grandchildren; and a host of friends. The family would like to send heartfelt thanks to Vista Care Hospice, Gracie of Meals on Wheels, and Dr. Karla Bolanos for their care and kindness to Iva, and to her “special angels”, Frances Olivas, Dan Sullivan, and Belem Nava, bless you and thank you. The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be sent to Vista Care Hospice 400 N. Pennsylvania Suite 500 Roswell, NM 88201. Pallbearers will be Joaquin L. Nieto, Gabriel A. Nieto, Marcus A. Gonzales, J. Fredrik Jansson, Larry B. Nieto, and John Christopher Musick. Honorary pallbearers will be her remaining grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
