Sheila Roe

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Sheila Roe, at the age of 94, who passed away peacefully at her home at Beehive. Sheila was born August 2, 1929, in South Bend, Indiana, to Nathan and Hettie Feinman. Sheila was married to David Roe, the love of her life, for sixty-three years. They were married on June 3, 1950, in New York. They moved to Florida, and together, they raised five children and later adopted one adult son who all loved and adored her. As the saying goes “behind every great man, there is a strong woman” and Sheila was the epitome of that. She moved with her husband, David, to Roswell in 1975 with her two youngest sons, Adam and Arnold. Within a few years, the remaining adult children moved to Roswell as well. If you had the opportunity to know Sheila, you loved her & if you were fortunate enough to know her very well, you adored her. She was one of those rare people that there's just never an unkind word spoken about her. Sheila loved to read, play rummy tile, and loved to watch Law & Order. Prior to retirement, David & Sheila developed Buena Vida West of Roswell, and then in 1980, they opened and operated the Clubhouse Restaurant and banquet facilities, where Sheila thrived at being one of the hostesses from 1980 to 1992. In 1990, Sheila and David opened Peppers Grill & Bar, which their children now own. They also opened in that same year KEND-FM radio. She enjoyed traveling the world and sailing on hundreds of cruises with her family and friends, but her true passion was being with her family. Sheila is survived by her loving family: Neil Roe & fiancé Carol Mertz; Elise Roe Moore & husband Jim, Sherri Miller & husband Scott; Adam Roe & wife Susie; Arnold Roe & fiancé Vickie Dunn; Kevin Roe & wife Cathy. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren and many nieces & nephews. We would like to thank Beehive Homes, where Sheila has spent the past 2 years, Gentiva Hospice, and all the wonderful caring staff, including her past caregivers over the years. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations in honor of Sheila be made to the charity of your choice. The family had a private burial yesterday for immediate family only.
