ALBERT V. SILVA, 70, passed away on Wednesday, November 6, 2019, in Roswell, NM. SERVICES: There will be a Viewing for Albert at Anderson Bethany Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 13, 2019, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM, followed by Rosary at 6:00 PM. A Memorial Service will be held at Anderson Bethany Funeral Home on Thursday, November 14, 2019, at 10:00 AM. On April 4, 1949, Albert was born to Gomesindo and Elizabeth Silva in Tornillo, Texas. He married Mary R. Silva, on October 5, 1969, in Roswell, New Mexico. Albert enlisted in the United States Army, from 24 Apr 1968 to 23 Apr 1974. He was honorably discharged after completing WHL Mech/Auto Mech training. During Albert’s military service, he was awarded a National Defense Service Medal, 2 OS Bars, Sharpshooter M-14, and Sharpshooter M-16. Prior to retirement, Albert worked as a city employee. He was a member of the Roswell Elks #969 Lodge. Albert was a loving father, husband, grandfather, and friend to everyone. He loved spending time with his family, mostly with his grandchildren. Albert enjoyed cooking on the grill, hunting, and fishing. He was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan who looked forward to watching them play. Albert was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed not only by his family and friends but by all those blessed enough to have known him. SURVIVORS: Albert is survived by his loving wife, Mary R. Silva; children: Tricia Renteria and husband Chris, Albert “Bert” Silva Jr., Elizabeth Silva and husband David Hubler, Eric Lucero and wife Stephanie, Adrian Mendoza, Elizabeth Lucero; grandchildren: Jonathon “JJ” Fierro and fiancé Taylor Monroe, Brianna Fierro, Dominic Silva, Khloe Silva, Ashley Hubler; siblings: Gomesindo “Chindo” Silva and wife Patsy, Eppie Silva, Fernando Silva and wife Sheila of Abilene, TX, Jesse Silva and wife Paula, Adella Griffith and husband Carl of Converse, TX, Fay Silva, Maggie Garrison, Linda Aylwin of Mesquite, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews. PRECEDED: Albert was preceded in death by his parents: Gomesindo and Elizabeth Silva; granddaughter, Monique Silva; brothers: Marcello Silva, Steve Silva, James Silva; sister, Nieves Ramey; sisters-in-law: Debbie Silva, Nancy Silva, Flora Silva; and tios/uncles: Faustino A. Silva, Pete Silva, and Emilio Silva. Albert’s family will be having a reception after the services at the American Legion, 1620 N Montana Ave, Roswell NM.
