Alfred Gomez

In Fred G.’s words “He shot out into the world,” on March 23, 1961, to his now deceased parents Socorro Saenz Gomez and Leonardo Gomez. Fred G. is the youngest of eight children, leaving behind seven siblings: Louie and Dorothy Gomez of Roswell, Grace and John Miscavage of Valley View, TX, Virgie and George Romero, Nellie and Rudy De Los Santos of Roswell, Agnes and Jeff Beauford of Ft. Worth, TX, Oscar and Arlene Gomez of Plano, TX, and Albert and Mucchelle Gomez of St. Paul, Tx; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Because of Christine Sedillo’s flower shoes and Fred G.’s rockin’ Mustang a love was born and a great future blossomed. Fred G. is survived by his loving wife, Christine; three children: Adam Jaramillo, Kris (Julissa Gomez) and Annallysia Gomez (Steven Aguilar); grandchildren: Olivia, Adrien, Brielle, and in spirit, baby, Joel. Fred G. was a High School All American who excelled in track, holding several records, and even on occasion, he outscored several teams at the meet on his own! He dominated the competition in football and basketball as well. Fred G, was 1st in State in hurdles his Jr. year, 1st in State in hurdles his Sr. year and he was MVP in basketball in 1980. He received a track scholarship from Western New Mexico, in 1980. This competitive spirit continued years later with his Gus Macker Team championships with three titles. Fred G. was innovative, jack-of-all-trades who loved tinkering, fast cars, music, and the casino!! He was outgoing, very generous and family oriented. He loved spending time with his grandchildren. On May 21, 2017, Fred G., 56, was called home by our Lord and Savior. He passed peacefully with his family by his side. Fred G. will be remembered for his inventive mind and outgoing personality. He will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him. A rosary will be recited on May 26, 2017 at 10:00 AM, followed by a Celebration of Life at 10:30 AM at Anderson Bethany Funeral Home.
