Anita Rico Marrufo

Anita Rico Marrufo Born: December 31, 1927 and went home on April 9th, 2019. Anita was born in Hagerman, New Mexico to Modesto Rico and Beatrice Guajaca. She was the youngest of 5 children. She has one living sister, Longina Rico Rodriguez and late husband Ramon Rodriguez. Anita was very close to her brother Tomas G Rico, they loved to sing and work together. The stories she shared of her and her brother Tomas were some of the most happiest times of her life but the most happiest time was when she received Jesus Christ in her heart. Anita loved to sing and write songs of the Lord. She loved gardening, cooking for those who came over, make tamales and enjoyed her children, grandchildren around her. She enjoyed the cookouts with Gino and the Pena family, also with Anita and family. But the biggest joy was when Mary put a birthday party for her one summer and all her family came together. Anita has 7 generations of children and grandchildren. Preceded in death was her father and mother Modesto Rico and Beatrice Guajaca, sister Reina Rico Flores, brothers Ramon G Rico and Tomas G Rico. First husband Braulio Moreno and Late Husband Ernesto Marrufo, and grandchildren; Tommie Jo Villa, “Little Ray” Pena, Sally Jean Flores, Arthur Najar and Gabriel Flores and grandbabies; James Aguirre Jr, Little Angel Pena. Anita’s children are : Linda Moreno Villa, Betty Amador, and husband Pastor Ernie Amador, Virginia Pena, Sally Moreno Creager and husband Scott Creager, Frances Moreno, Mary Ann Urquides and husband Rick Urquides, Tomas Marrufo Sr. and spouse Terri Marrufo and Anita M Rivera. Also very close to her was Son in Law Cipriano Villa, and late son in laws; Reyes Pena, Francisco Rivera Sr., Bradley Garcia and Eliseo Carrasco. Also 7 generations of Grand Children whom she loved very much. Pallbearers: Michael Fischkelta, Max Anthony Hernandez, Tommy Pena, Tomas Marrufo Jr., Gino Pena, Francisco Rivera Jr., James Pena and Josiah Villa. Honorary Pallbearers: Cesar Chavez, Jerry Najar, Jason Romero, Michael Villa. Tommy Pena “Jr.”, Frankie Gonzales and “Little Micheal” Archuleta Villa, Ben Gabriel Flores and Abreanna Woodruff. Services for Anita Rico Marrufo is Friday, April 12th, 2019 at 11:00 am at Christ’s Church located at 2200 N. Sycamore Ave. Roswell, New Mexico 88201. Viewing will be on Friday at 9:30 am till 10:50 am before the services and will be laid to rest at South Park Cemetery. Reception following burial will be at Hope Family Church of God at 1691 W. McGaffey, corner of McGaffey and Wyoming. Anita’s tribute was lovingly written in her memory by her family.
