Anthony Raymond Martinez (Boom Boom), 48, died Friday, May 20, 2016. He was born in Roswell, NM, on March 4, 1968, to Raymond Lucero and Christina (Gonzales) Martinez. He was married to Leticia Maria (Gomez) Martinez. Together they made their home in Bastrop, Texas. Anthony worked for 26 years in the construction business as a heavy equipment operator. He loved going to bike rallies on his Harley Davidson Motorcycle. Always ready to give advice or lend a hand, Anthony loved to help others. He loved being with his friends – and he had a lot of friends. Oldies, Old Cars, Harley Davidson Motorcycles, and the Pittsburgh Steelers were among some of Anthony’s favorites. Going to the bar next door at Brenda’s and Ronnie’s “One Oak Bar” was a refreshing pastime. But above all, drinking under the carport with his wife, listening to music and smoking were his favorite. And don’t forget his dog, Wedo. Anthony loved his dog. Preceding Anthony in death were his daughter, Antoinnette Rae Martinez of Roswell; and his father, Raymond Lucero, also of Roswell. Viewing for Anthony will be Thursday, May 26, 2016, 12:00 PM to 7:00 PM and Friday, May 27, 2016, 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM at Anderson Bethany Funeral Home and Crematory. A rosary will be recited by Deacon Ernesto Martinez on Friday, May 27, 2016, 7:00 PM at Anderson Bethany Funeral Home and Crematory. Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, May 28, 2016, 9:00 AM, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church. Father Charlie Martinez will officiate the Mass. Burial will follow at South Park Cemetery.
