Arthur Herrera

Our beloved son, brother, father, and grandfather, and uncle, Arthur Gene Herrera, passed away on December 31, 2023, in El Paso, Texas. Arthur (Hachie) was born on March 31, 1963, to Henry and Rose Herrera in Roswell, New Mexico. At a young age, Hachie learned how to weld at Ruidoso Downs Racetracks with his best-friend Popo, then later worked for Glovers Meat Packing. Later, he started working at American Transmission, cleaning parts where he learned how to rebuild transmissions. Building transmissions became his passion, which led him to open his own transmission shop, where he then started building transmissions for the owner of Orlies Lowrider Magazine. He loved his lowriders and had to have a set of rims on everything he owned. He loved raising roosters and horses, but most of all spending time outdoors. He was a jack of all trades, and there wasn’t anything he couldn’t fix. Even if he found it in the dirt, he would polish it and make it look new. Whether you knew him or not, he was always willing to help. Hachie is survived by his daughter, Stephanie Herrera (Gus); his son Gabriel Herrera (Lisa); grandchildren: Dominic Herrera (Dasjia), Devanie Lopez (Jonah), Izik Herrera, David Montez, and Gabrial Herrera; great-granddaughter, Evalyna Herrera; sisters: Delicia Herrera (Robert), Yvette Herrera (Leroy), Michelle Herrera (Charles), Theresa Jaramillo (Pat); As well as numerous: nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and many friends and acquaintances; he is also survived by his dogs: Bully, Whiskey, and all the Gallo’s. Hachie is preceded in death by his mother, Rose Herrera; father, Henry Herrera; brother, Henry Sonny Herrera Jr.; maternal grandparents: Erminio Sanchez and Delicia Gustamantes Sanchez; paternal grandparents: Antonio and Frances “Makika” Herrera; nephews: Vato Lucero, Daniel Herrera; niece, Chasity Pena; his Nino and Nina: Ben & Bea Herrera; and numerous other family members. A viewing will be held on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, from 12 PM to 6 PM, followed by a rosary at Anderson Bethany Funeral Home Chapel.
