A memorial service will be held for Austin “Dwayne” McClain, 57, of Roswell at 1: 00 pm Sunday, November 22, 2009 at Anderson-Bethany Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Albert Castro officiating. Austin “Dwayne” McClain passed on to be with our Lord November 19, 2009 at the age of 58. Dwayne was born December 1, 1951 in Roswell, NM to Austin Avis McClain and Marie Agnes Pack McClain, both of whom preceded him in death. Dwayne was also preceded in death by his sister, Karen Fay McClain and a great nephew, Sgt. Christopher Sanders. Dwayne was a proud and loving father, grandfather, brother and uncle. He surrounded himself with friends and family, always with a smile, and always with the boyish laugh that made everyone laugh with him. Dwayne, always youthful at heart, was a jack of many trades, drummer in a local band, race car driver, handyman, and much more, but mostly he was “Grandpa Cowboy.” Dwayne is survived by his three loving daughters, Shawna Krueger and her husband, Jeff, granddaughters Riley and Reese of Lubbock; Holly Picard and her partner Jeff, granddaughters, Nylah and Brooke, of Ohio; Tonya Rennels and her husband, David , granddaughter, Jordan of Lubbock; three sisters, Shirley Weldon and her husband, J.W. of Roswell; Verna King and her husband, Ron of El Paso; Nona Stroshine of Roswell; two brothers, Charles McClain and his wife, Vicki of Dexter and Jeffrey McClain of Roswell; nieces and nephews, Kelly and Marie Sanders, Mike and Cindy Sanders, Marte and Chad Reavis, Carol and Fred Macleod, Debbie and Ed Buss, Barbra and Bob Noland, Richard Bogs, Katherine Smith, Larry Davis, Bill Bohanon, Jr. and Diane, Natalie and Bill Steele, Robbie Bohanon, Kimberly and Daniel Graves, Pamela McClain, Melissa and Javier Marquez and Jason McClain as well as numerous great nieces, great nephews and cousins. Dwayne truly loved his lifelong friends, Del and Leticia Carmona, Adam Solis and Alex Thompson. Dwayne was very thankful to the hardworking and loving caregivers from VistaCare Hospice Patsy, Alice, Anita and so many others.
