Carlos Ray Savedra

Carlos Ray Savedra joined the Lord Jesus Christ on Wednesday, August 3, 2016, surrounded by his loved ones at his home in Roswell, NM, at the young age of 48. Carlos was born in Albuquerque, NM to Emilio Savedra Jr. and Beatrice Pino Savedra on December 19, 1967. At the age of nine, Carlos was blessed to learn the trade of construction, a family business, passed down from one generation to the next. He worked as a maintenance man for Eastern Regional Housing Authority in Hobbs, NM. Carlos was loved by all of his co-workers for his dedication and sense of humor. Carlos was a real outdoorsman, many activities he enjoyed were fishing, hunting, and especially camping. Listening to oldies and throwing back a couple of beers with family & friends was a favorite pastime. Carlos lived his life the best way he could, and our Heavenly Father walked him thru the trials he faced in this life. He was a member of Church on the Move in Roswell, NM, where he and his wife served together temporarily at Legacy Church (Albuquerque, NM) in the homeless ministry. Carlos will always be remembered as having a giving heart helping out others, even if he didn’t know them. His wife fell in love with him because of his giving heart. She says, “Carlos was a man nobody could replace… at least not in my heart.” Preceding Carlos in death are his dad, Emilio Savedra Jr., and his brothers: Victor Savedra and Ronnie Savedra. Carlos is survived by his loving wife, Vanessa Cruz Savedra of 6 ½ yrs. They were married in Albuquerque, NM at Legacy Church on February 21, 2010. Carlos is lovingly remembered, by his wife Vanessa Cruz Savedra of Roswell, NM; mother, Beatrice Savedra of Albuquerque, NM; sisters: Pam (Allen) Montigney of Phoenix, AZ, Jennifer (Guy) Garcia of Albuquerque, NM; nieces: Shana & Andrea (Jesus) Herrera, Samantha, Sabrina, and Stephanie Savedra; nephews: Anthony, Bobby, and Matthew; and daughter, Danee Savedra of Albuquerque, NM; with numerous uncles, aunts, and cousins from Roswell, Albuquerque, & Socorro. Edward & Martha Savedra, as well as Denise & Raymond Carabajal, are two special uncles and aunts that he held very close to his heart. Carlos was very much loved by his father-in-law Armando Onsurez and mother in law Olivia Cruz; brother-in-law and homie David Montez; sister-in-law Amanda Cruz and kids, Arianna Cruz, Jr., Guerra, and Dominic (Domino) Aragonez. He had special homies that surrounded him with brother love from day one who are David Montez, Julian Oropesa and Jeff Rivera (childhood homie) that he cared about very much. Carlos, you will always be missed, remembered, and always live in our hearts for as long as we live. We love you so much. The viewing will be held at Anderson Bethany Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday, August 7, 2016, 2:00 to 6:00 PM at 2609 S. Main Street, Roswell, NM, 88203. Prayer Service will start at 7:00 PM at Anderson Bethany Funeral Home with Pastor Tim Arlet officiating. A Memorial service will be held at Church on the Move on Monday, August 8, 2016, at 11:00 AM with Pastor Jim Reeves officiating at 901 W. Brasher Rd Roswell, NM, 88201. A reception will take place at the One-Eighty building across the way from Church on the Move immediately following the memorial. Carlos is in heaven now. He’s with his dad, brothers, and other friends. I’m sure he is happy because in heaven there is peace. Carlos had no unfinished business, and he was ready when God took him to be in His kingdom, building walls of jasper and streets of gold.
