Obituary for Celso Manuel Martinez A Prayer service will be held for Celso Manuel “Baby Boy” Martinez, 24, of Roswell at 7 pm Monday at Anderson-Bethany Funeral Home. A Graveside Service for Celso will be Tuesday December 4, 2007 at 10 am with pastor Jim Hopkins officiating at South Park Cemetery. Celso passed away Friday in Roswell, NM. Visitation will be Monday from 11 am to 9 pm at the funeral home. A lifelong resident of Roswell, Celso was born on July 1, 1983 to Manuel Martinez and Naomi Gonzales Martinez. He graduated from Roswell High School and worked doing general construction in the Roswell area. Celso loved playing football and spending time with his friends. Celso loved helping others. He loved to make people laugh and working with his hands. Celso will be missed by all that knew and loved him. Celso is survived by his daughter, Arissa Martinez; his mother, Naomi Martinez; sisters, Sparklle Briseno, Rayitos Martinez, Blosme Morales, Tiana Martinez, Davonna Martinez, Roseann Martinez and Shimmerwind Ortega; a brother, Matthew Martinez all of Roswell; his grandmother, Leocadia Martinez; nieces, Whisperangels Barbourella, Sparklle Briseno, and Trinity Ortega; nephews, Marcelleno Briseno, Manuel Martinez, and Michael Ortega; special friends, James Padilla, Daniel Jimenez, Daniel Marrow, Danny Urbina, and Brandon Barela; and other friends and relatives. Celso was preceded in death by his father, Manuel Martinez, daughter, Angel Martinez, brother, Nick Gonzales, grandparents, Sostena and Andres Gonzales, and uncle, Jesus Martinez. Pallbearers will be Daniel Jimenez, Daniel Mairot, Brandon Barela, Larry Briseno, Matt Martinez and Danny Urbina. Honorary Pallbearers will be James Padilla, Nacho Ramirez, Timoteo Runion, Ignacio Ramirez, Josephine Juarez and family, Gilberto “Beto” Borunda, Suelane Cortez Rubio, his football teammates on the Rail Splitters and Coyotes, Anthony Terrazas, Carlos Martinez, Jimmy Ramirez, Jr., Sam Peralta, Jesse Larez, Richard Sanchez, the Conde Family and Desiree Serna and Family. Following the Graveside Service the family will gather at 403 East 24th Street.
