Christina Barrera

A Memorial Service for Christina Barrera, 52, of Roswell, NM will be Saturday, August 23, 2014 at 11:00 AM at St. Stephens Angelican Church, 101 S. Lea, with Pastor Bob Tally officiating. Christina passed away August 5, 2014, she will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Christina was small in size but most certainly strong in faith and heart. She fought a long battle with MS. Christina was born August 2, 1962 in San Rafael, NM to Teodoro and Virginia Blea. She graduated from Grants High School in Grants, NM, and married Hector Barrera, her high school sweetheart in 1979 and they were in-separable. They truly cared for each other through good and bad, they never faltered and were always by each other’s side. She worked at Levis Strauss in Roswell for many years until closure. She loved animals, especially horses. She loved to laugh, sing and dance; she always dressed and looked so pretty with her long western skirts and boots. She had a close relationship with her mother-in- law and they enjoyed going to church on Sundays and also enjoyed each other’s company and laughing. She loved playing and joking with her nieces and nephews. Christina is survived by her spouse Hector Barrera of Roswell; her father Teodoro Blea of San Rafael; brothers, Wilfred Blea of San Rafael; Manuel Blea of San Rafael; and Dorphy Blea of Milan, NM; In-laws Francisco and Benita Barrera of Roswell; Nieces: Dolores Blea, Amanda Blea, Rachael Blea, Jessica Blea, Shyla Ervin, Natalie Ervin, Ciara Barrera; nephews, Gavino Blea, Manuel “Buddy” Blea, Rick Medina, Fabian Medina ,Chris Medina, Colton Barrera, and Hunter Ervin; great-nephew, Gabriel Blea. Predeceased by her mother Virginia Blea of San Rafael, NM A very special and heartfelt thank you to Gentiva/ VistaCare Hospice and all the staff and volunteers that helped take care of her; she was blessed by all of you. A special thank you to her niece, Dolores Blea as she helped take care of her auntie Tina for many years. Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints." Psalms 116:15.
