Johnie “Dale” Davis, 65, passed away after a courageous battle with Melanoma on May 13, 2026 in Roswell, NM surrounded by his family. There will be a visitation at Anderson Bethany Funeral Home in Roswell, NM on May 19, 2026, from 4pm to 7pm. There will also be a visitation on May 20, 2026, from 10am to 1pm at St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Carlsbad, NM. Funeral Services will be held at St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church on May 20, 2026, at 1:30pm with Pastor Larry Sydow officiating. Interment will follow at Carlsbad Cemetery. Dale was born on December 2, 1960, to Johnie Hamilton Davis and Ruth Ellenore (Rowland) Davis in Altus, Oklahoma. He graduated from Carlsbad High School in 1978. Dale married the love of his life, Roberta “Robin” Robinson on September 13, 1990, in Carlsbad, NM. Dale had an amazing talent for paint and drywall that began at a very young age working for Harvey Wagner and Barnes Brother’s Builders. Dale worked many jobs early in life eventually managing his own Texaco Service Station in the early 1990’s after the encouragement of his Father-in-Law Jess Robinson. However Dale’s true passion was paint and drywall and in 1993 he was able to fully follow his dream after obtaining his contractors license and starting Dale Davis Construction which then transitioned to Dale Davis Painting, LLC over the years. Dale worked hard to establish a name and reputation for himself in Eddy County and Southeast New Mexico doing many commercial painting projects. In addition Dale was one of the first individuals along with his crew in New Mexico to begin pouring acrylic floors. Dale devoted his life to his work, but also enjoyed hunting and the outdoors with his long time right hand man Kevin Crouch. But anyone who knew Dale knew he loved his Dog’s most of all, especially his little “Baby”. Those left to eternally treasure and cherish memories of Dale are his: Son Jesse Davis and wife Monica Davis. Grandchildren; Paige, Regan, Ryan, and Tessa Davis. Brothers; Jack Brown (Bonnie), Dennis Davis, and Dwayne Davis (Donna) and Beloved sister Gail Belcher. Dale is also survived by numerous Nephews, Nieces, Cousins, and friends. Dale was preceded in Death by his wife; Robin Davis, Father; Johnie Davis, Mother; Ruth Davis; Brothers, Gary Davis and Gary Robert Brown. Dale left a mark on the community with the paint that he applied, but most importantly he left a mark on those who knew him and loved him as he left a mark on each and every one of them. Blessed to be chosen as Honorary Pallbearers are his Granddaughters Paige, Regan, and Tessa Davis. Honored to serve as Pallbearers are Ryan Davis, John Durdee, Kurt Gutierrez, Shaun Harvey, Daniel Martinez Sr, and Sergio Varela.
