Obituary for Daniel “Danny” Ortega Najar Sr. Graveside services for Daniel “Danny” Ortega Najar Sr., 57, of Roswell will be held at 10 am Thursday, January 17, 2008, at South Park Cemetery. Danny passed Sunday, January 13, 2008, at his home. A lifelong resident of Roswell, Danny was born on May 28, 1950 to Anastacio and Susana Ortega Najar. He was employed at Glover’s for thirteen years and at Novabus for twenty years. He was a fan of the Dallas Cowboys, enjoyed listening to Oldies, playing darts, throwing horseshoes, doing wood working, and spending time with his friends. Danny is survived by daughters, Lynette Lopez and Noami Najar; sons, Lazaro Benitez Jr., and Omar Benitez; grandchildren, Jasmine, Jessica, Amber, Deniece Lopez, Valicia Benitez, Santana and Savanna Tavarez, Lil’Omar and Gilbert Benitez, David Adam Talamantes, David Joseph Lopez, Ethan and Jaylynn Benitez; great-grandson, Jacob Lopez; brothers, Joe Najar, Pete Najar and his wife, Yolanda, and Sam Najar and his wife, Adeline; sisters, Bennie Beneivides and her husband, Andy, Delfina Heinz and her husband, Leroy, Fran Hines and her husband, Burl, and Estella Ochoa; special cousin John Lopez Jr.; favorite compadre, Bobby Contreras; favorite comadre, Ginne Salas; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Danny was preceded in death by his parents, Anastacio and Susana Najar, son, Danny Najar Jr., and by brothers and sisters, David, Joe, Fina, Tanis Jr., Lila, Eloy and Fran. Honorary pallbearers will be Lupe Serna, Frances Najar, Robert Hernandez, Elvis Aguilar, David Lopez Sr., and Jesus Anaya. He was a great dad and grandpa, and what he loved most was his kids. He was a great friend and got along with everyone and accepted everybody for who they were. This man was so great because he brought joy to people and always seemed to be putting smiles on faces all the time. He loved making jokes and laughing with everyone. He gave greatness to the ones he loved and was the type of person to give you the shirt off of his back if you needed it. He was a very kind, loving, and giving man, who loved his family more than anything in this world. He was the greatest man we’ve ever known.
