On October 16, 2021, heaven gained an angel. Mom was reunited with her parents, sisters, and many more loved ones. She was beautiful, strong, kind, and passionate about her family. Mom will remain that way in our hearts forevermore. She was full of life and loved to be spontaneous. Casinos, lottery tickets, and family trips were her favorite pastime. Her grandbabies held the key to her heart, and she loved to spoil them any way she could. Darlene Teresa Montoya you will forever remain in our hearts. Thank you for the memories and moments you shared with us. Darlene Teresa Montoya, 57 years of Roswell, passed away on Saturday, October 16, 2021, in Albuquerque. There will be a Viewing at Anderson Bethany Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 26, 2021, from 4:00 PM to 6:30 PM, followed by a Rosary at 6:00 PM. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, October 27th, 2021, at Anderson Bethany Funeral Home. Burial will follow at South Park Cemetery. Darlene was born in Roswell, NM, to Camilo Martinez and Teresa Martinez on February 21, 1964. She went to school at Roswell High School, and she married Alfred Montoya on October 8, 1982, in Roswell, New Mexico. She worked as a teacher assistant, cashier, and caretaker. Darlene is preceded in death by Camilo Martinez, Teresa Martinez, Virgie Juarez, and Juanita Martinez. Darlene is survived by Alfred Montoya: Timothy Montoya, Crystal Aragon (Anthony), Alfred Jr. Montoya, and Taneesha Adams. Two sisters JoAnn Martinez, Mary Mendoza, a special friend whom she considered a sister Teresa Grado, and one brother Alfonso Martinez. Grandchildren Victoria, Damion, Christian, Huxley, Radford, and Finlay. Pallbearers will be Timothy Montoya, Alfred Jr. Montoya, Alex Grado, Jaime Grado, Anthony Aragon and Agapito Mendoza. The family of Darlene Montoya wishes to extend our sincere thanks and appreciation to all that donated and showed love and support to our family.
