David Salas

A rosary for David Salas of Roswell will be held Friday, October 14, 2011 at Anderson Bethany Funeral Home at 7pm. Mass will be Saturday, October 15, 2011 at St. Peter’s Church at 10am with Father Charlie Martinez officiating. Burial will follow at South Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday, October 13, 2011 from 12-8 pm and Friday, October 14, 2011 from 8 am-7pm. David, age 58, passed away Wednesday October 12, 2011 at his residence. David was born on April 3, 1953 to Roger and Simodosea “Bea” (Lucero) Salas. He married Anita Regalado on December 4, 1970. A lifetime resident of Roswell, David retired from Fingerprint Graphics as Copier Technician. He was a devoted husband to his loving wife of forty years. Childhood sweethearts, they built a family based on love and laughter. He had an infectious laugh and a smile that could light up a room. He loved music and singing. Together with Nita, Dave enjoyed his family above all else. He spent a tremendous amount of quality time taking his children and grandchildren fishing and on vacations. Dave attended all school functions and sports events and loved being his grandchildren’s number one fan. He had a passion for gardening vegetables and flowers. He will be remembered by many. The family takes comfort in knowing that he joins his loving mother, Bea in heaven. Those left to cherish David’s memory is wife, Anita Salas of Roswell; sons, David Salas Jr. of Roswell and Jason Salas and wife Claudia of Las Cruces; daughter, Angela Sosa and husband Felipe of Roswell; grandchildren, Alaniz Salas, Austin Salas, Sami Sosa, and Elijah Sosa; father, Roger Salas of Roswell; sister, Aggie Medrano and husband Ismael of Roswell; brother, Roger Salas Jr. of Roswell; and sisters in law, Esther Salas of Roswell, NM and Bonnie Salas of Corpus Christi, TX. Preceding him in death is mother, Bea Salas and brother, Rudy Salas. Serving as pallbearers are Archie Regalado, David Regalado, Damasio Regalado Jr., Johnny Medrano, John Sisneros, Charlie Ward, Roger Salas III, and Ralph Gamboa.
