Eliseo “Chewe” Medina, 37, passed away on Friday, March 31st, 2023 in Roswell, NM. There will be no services. Chewe was born on May 23, 1985 in Roswell, NM to Moses and Lisa (Gustamantes) Medina in Roswell, New Mexico. Chewe attended Templo Getsemani where his father is now the pastor since his grandfather's passing in January. Chewe loved to say I Love You to his family and liked to sign the L for love. He liked for you to sign the L too and connect them to make a heart. He was cherished and well-loved. He had been cared for by his parents and his two older siblings for the past 17 yrs. but God decided it was time for him to return to heaven to wait for his family. He loved watching the Dallas Cowboys and the Denver Broncos play football. He played football for Roswell High in his freshman year. Those left to eternally treasure and cherish memories of Chewe are his parents Moses and Lisa (Gustamantes) Medina; Paternal Grandmother Isabel Medina: Sister Adelina (Donavan) Brewton; children Julianna, Christopher, LaRae. Brother: Joshua (Veronica) Medina; children Vivianna, Joshie, Natalia. Aunts/Uncles: Elias & David Medina, Mack (Lisa) Medina, Maxine (Esteban) Villa, Naomi (Edward) Perez, Veronica (Hector) Macias, Beatrice Lopez, Ray Gustamantes, Presella Gustamantes, Richard Jr (Frances) Gustamantes, Joaquin (Mary) Gustamantes, Felipe (Lisa) Gustamantes, Frank (Cindy) Gustamantes, and Viola Vigil. Chewe had many cousins from the Medina and Gustamantes’ side(s) of the family. Some whom he grew up with and some who had come into his life, all know who they are. You all will always have him close to your heart. Chewe was preceded in death by Grandparents: Richard & Susie Gustamantes, Carlos (Charley) R. Medina Jr., and Great-Grandparents: Jose Carlos & Guadalupe Medina. One Niece/Nephew: Baby Brewton Aunts/Uncles: Ruben Medina, Joe Sanchez, Arlene Medina, Lucy Chavez Medina, Mack Medina, Senovio Gustamantes, Luis Vigil, Jose Delfin and Patsy Herrera, Pancho Lopez Cousins: Felipe Richard Gustamantes, Fabian Gustamantes, Jessica Erives, Gilbert Gustamantes Chewe, My heart is broken that you are no longer with us. You always brought a smile to my face, I would always wake up and go to check on you making sure that you were doing okay. I never expected to get the call to let me know that you were gone. It is so hard to go over and see your chair empty. But I have to be strong for your Mom & Dad. You are forever gone but will never be forgotten. You will forever live in my heart.
