Emeterio Granado III

Emeterio Granado III, “Jay,” 52, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family and friends on Wednesday, December 1, 2021, in Roswell, New Mexico. The family of Emeterio will gather to Celebrate his Life at Waymaker Church, 202 S. Sunset Avenue, Roswell, New Mexico, at 10:00 AM on Saturday, December 4, 2021. On January 6, 1969, Jay was born to Agnes and George Washington in Moline, Illinois. He has been a chef his whole adult life in various cities, from Albuquerque, New Mexico, to San Antonio, Texas. Jay enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, most of all, spending time with all his family and friends. Jay was given a gift of cooking that he shared with those he loved. Every dish he made was extraordinary, and there was something in every bite that made it known you were eating something special. If you were blessed to receive a gift from him, it was most likely something you could eat and something you remember eating for the rest of your life. Jay may be gone, but the memories of fun, laughter, and good food will always remain. Preceding Emeterio in death are his parents, George and Agnes Washington; sister, Aurora “Vickie” Granado; grandmother, Patsy Guerra; along with numerous family members. Those left to eternally treasure and cherish memories of Emeterio are his children: Alice and husband Chico; Emilia, Jaylene, Kaitlyn, Anna, Dezary, Anthony, Joshua, and Richard; grandchildren: Juan, Jennica, Eliaz “Winky,” Adalai, Jayce, Marley, Zayden, Tobias, Emette, Eli, Xavier, and Jesus; sisters: Patricia Washington, Linette Washington, and Paulette Chaser; brothers: Marcus James Granado and Robert Zacniewski, and Steve Silva; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Honorary Pallbearers: Raymond Burns “Old Goat,” Chris Carrasco, Tony Linares, Ernest Reynolds, George Molinar, Pelo Molinar, Robert Hernandez, Anthony Willette and wife Amanda; Undrae Briggs, Michael Williams “Spider Mike,” Louie Reese, and Jessie Sopher. The family would like to extend a very special “Thank You” to Dr. Jessie Sorla, Kindred Hospice, Community Homecare, and the many family and friends who have supported us through this difficult time.
