Espiridion Bachicha

Espiridion “Steve” Bachicha, 81, passed away on Sunday, November 9th 2025 in Roswell, NM. There will be a rosary at Anderson Bethany on Monday, November 24th at 6:00 p.m. Funeral Services with be held at St. John’s Catholic Church on Tuesday, November 25th at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at General Douglas L. McBride Veteran Cemetery. Steve was born on June 30, 1944 to Espiridion and Julianita Bachicha in Albuquerque, NM. He was raised and attended school in Roswell, NM. He enlisted in United States Army in 1968. He served in Vietnam and was awarded a Purple Heart for wounds received in combat. On October 15, 1976, he married Alice Saenz. Together they raised four children. He worked for the State of New Mexico at The New Mexico Rehabilitation Center in Roswell and retired as the physical plant manager. In retirement he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and staying busy with a multitude of home and vehicle projects. He always made time to help family, friends and neighbors with home improvement projects as well. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping at Silver Lake with Alice. He was proceeded in death by his parents, Espiridion & Julianita Bachicha; his brothers David and “Kiki” Bachicha; and his sister Rosa Gonzales. He is survived by his children Rachel Saenz and her husband Armando Lucero, Rick Saenz and wife Maryann, Michael Bachicha, Felipe Bachicha and girlfriend Angela Hood; as well as his grandchildren Regan Saenz, Jonathan Ledbetter and girlfriend Paloma Reyes, Aaron Bachicha, Evan Ledbetter and wife Shyla, Lauryn Saenz, Ryan Saenz, Ethan Saenz and one great grandchild, Ezekiel Coli. He is also survived by his siblings Paula Montoya, Salvador Bachicha, Mary Helen Bachicha, Juanita Romero and husband Alfred, and his beloved cousins Carol Benavidez, spouse Mike Serna, “Joe Boots” Benavidez and Orlando Benavidez. Pallbearers will be Rick Saenz, Mike Bachicha, Felipe Bachicha, JC Ledbetter, Aaron Bachicha and Evan Ledbetter. Honorary pallbearers are Ryan Saenz, Ethan Saenz, Dionicio Romero, Mike Serna and Teddy. The family of Steve would like to extend our sincere appreciation to the staff at the Artesia VA clinic and the staff at Comfort Keepers for their care.
