Espiridion Bachicha

A rosary for Steve Bachicha, 94, of Roswell will be recited at 7pm, Thursday, September 24, 2009 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 am, Friday, September 25, 2009 at St. John’s with Father Juan Montoya O.F.M. officiating. Steve passed away September 21, 2009 at his home. Visitation will be held from 10 am -7 pm, Wednesday and Thursday 8 am-4:30 pm at Anderson-Bethany Funeral Home. Steve was born September 19, 1915 to Luis Bachicha and Elena Moya in Chilili, NM. He loved being around his family and grandchildren. Steve married the love of his life Julianita Maldonado on February 6, 1941 in Willard, NM. Steve enjoyed playing board games, dominos, checkers and anything that had to do with cards. He was an avid Los Angeles Dodgers fan even when they were having a losing season. He was a wonderful, supporting father, he was strict and didn’t believe in being lazy. Steve served our country in the United States Army and Air Force for twelve years. He worked as a house mover for approx. twelve years and as a yard keeper/landscaper until his retirement in 2001. He is survived by his three sons; Steve Bachicha Jr. and his wife Alice of Roswell, Salvador Bachicha and his wife Kathy of Albuquerque, Adolph Bachicha and his wife Mary of Los Lunas, four daughters; Rosa Gonzales of Glendale, AZ, Paula Montoya and her husand Jim, Juanita Romero and her husband Alfred and Mary Helen Bachicha of Roswell, two brothers; Albert Lucero of Albuquerque and Joe Bachicha of Roswell, a sister Nina and her husband “Nate” Gomez of Albuquerque, 28 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren, 10 great great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Steve is preceded in death by his wife Julianita, one son; David O. Bachicha, two brothers; Demetrio Bachicha and Juan Bachicha, three sisters; Lupe Benavides, Louisa Vargas and Margaret Vargas. Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Rick Saenz, Salvador Bachicha Jr., Fernando Bachicha, Dionicio Romero, Sylvester Gonzales and Jimmy Joe Montoya. Honorary pallbearers will be his remaining grand children, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
