Evangeline "Vangie" Rose Garcia

In Loving Memory July 28, 1954 - July 28, 2021 Evangeline “Vangie” Rose Garcia, a mother, grandmother, sister, retired state of New Mexico employee, and lifelong New Mexico resident, passed away in Albuquerque on Wednesday, July 28, 2021, at the young age of 67. On Thursday, August 12, 2021, there will be a Viewing at Anderson Bethany Funeral Home in Roswell, New Mexico, starting at 5:00 PM, followed by a Rosary at 6:00 PM. A Funeral Mass will be held at the Ave Maria Center in Roswell, New Mexico, on Friday, August 13, 2021, at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at General Douglas L. McBride Veterans Cemetery. “Vangie” was born on July 28, 1954, in Sena, New Mexico. She grew up in Sena, New Mexico, with her family farming and ranching the mountains and valleys of Northern New Mexico. Vangie later moved to Santa Fe, New Mexico, to begin her adult life. She met the love of her life and was wed to Daniel Garcia on December 9, 1972, in Villanueva, New Mexico. Above all else, Vangie loved her family so very deeply and enjoyed the time spent with them. She enjoyed playing cards with her mother, other families, and friends. Vangie enjoyed traveling with her family and especially her grandchildren. Selfless was a word that described her perfectly as her house was your house, her food was your food, her life was our life. Vangie leaves behind a true legacy of love, laughter, and caring. The imprint that she put on our hearts is truly remarkable! God came for Vangie on her birthday to “Celebrate Her Life” rather than be saddened by her death. Vangie is survived by her husband, Daniel Garcia; daughters: Angela Garcia and Malissa Dominquez; sons: Joe Garcia and wife Megan Garcia, Adam Garcia and wife Elida Garcia; grandchildren: Abigail Garcia, Jeremiah Garcia, Adriana Dominquez, Trinidad Dominquez, Sophia Dominquez, Isabella Dominguez, Ezekial Dominguez, Addison Garcia, Aiden Garcia, Lorelei Garcia, Jayson Person, Damian Person, Jayden Person, and Maya Maestas; Goddaughter, Destanee Garcia; sisters: Maryann Arguello and family, Cecilia Chavez and family; brothers: Fulgencio Sena and family, Saturnino Sena and family, Clarence Sena and family, Christobal Sena and family, Salvador Sena and family, Johnny Sena and family and Roman Sena and family. Preceding Vangie in death is her mother, Josephine Sena and her father, Juan Sena. Pallbearers are her grandsons: Trinidad Dominquez, Ezekial Dominquez, Aiden Garcia, Jeremiah Garcia, Jayson Person, Damian Person, and Jayden Person. Honorary Pallbearers are her brothers: Fulgencio Sena, Saturnino Sena, Clarence Sena, Christobal Sena, Salvador Sena, Johnny Sena, and Roman Sena.
