Funeral services for Fannie “Bea” Bell Jordan, 90, will be held at 10 am Saturday, May 31, 2008, at Washington Avenue Fellowship with Pastor Randy Reeves officiating. Burial will follow at South Park Cemetery. Viewing will be held at Anderson-Bethany Funeral Home on Friday, May 30th, from 6-8 pm. Bea was born on March 23, 1918 to Amos Oscar Higgins and Fannie Theresa Cobb Higgins in Tell, Hall County, Texas and Bea passed away Wednesday, May 28, 2008, surrounded by the love of her family at her daughter’s residence in Odessa, Texas. “Mom” to some, “grandma and great grandma” to others. How can we forget her classy style and beautiful smile; home-cooked meals and shoes with a low heel. For many years, Bea resided in Roswell, NM and Arizona. She and her husband retired to Lovington, NM in 1976 where Bea worked for her Shamrock Café and her favorites dress shop of all times, “Beverley’s Dress Shop”. In 1997, she moved back to the place she liked to call home, Roswell. The last two years of Bea’s life were spent with her younger daughter and family in Odessa, Texas. Bea was a member of Washington Avenue Fellowship and was a hard worker and loved all of her family. She will be dearly missed and leaves behind a beautiful legacy. Precious memories will remain with us all until we rejoice with her again in heaven. Bea is survived by daughters, Bea Meadows and her husband, Ralph, of Roswell and Joyce Griffith and her husband, James D., of Odessa, TX; sisters-in-law, Johnnie Higgins of Roswell, Betty Higgins of Farmington, NM and Evelyn Higgins of Lakeland, Florida; ten grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; nine great great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Bea was preceded in death by her parents, Amos and Fannie Higgins; son, Calvin “Sonny” Evans’ grandson, Lonnie Hite; granddaughter, Jennifer Chasity Marie Griffith; brothers, Amos, Alfred, and Charles Higgins; and sisters, Amnie “Letcher” Broadus and ImaGene Montgomery. Pallbearers will be William Hite, Robert Hite, David Guillen, James Griffith, Michael Sharp, Terry Vaughn, Chad Pittman and a special great grandson, Tyler Griffith. Honorary pallbearers will be Calvin A. Evans, and Kyle Evans, Justin Griffith, the Jackson Boys, the Sharp Boys, the Kuritz Boys, the Hawkins Boys, the Bailey Boys, Jay Boland, and Brylei Wayne.
