Gloria Morrow

Graveside services will be held Friday, April 15, 2011, at 12:00 p.m. at South Park Cemetary for Gloria Morrow, 72, of Roswell. Gloria was born on December 16, 1938 in Portales, New Mexico to William C. Wright and Muriel T. Wright Coggin. She married Wilburn "Buster" Morrow on May 8, 1960 in Brownfield, Texas. Gloria was a bookkeeper and substitute teacher until she retired. Her love for gospel music came from her love for our Lord and Savior. She enjoyed playing piano and organ for her church and the Morrow family recorded an album in 1969. She spent time camping and going on picnics with her family, gardening and canning, and attended Seventh Day Adventist Church for many years. Gloria especially looked forward to times spent celebrating holidays and birthdays with family. She had a heart for children and during her teaching days, she often helped students in financial need. Gloria thought it was most important to be an example to her children and that they succeed in life. Gloria is survived by her loving husband of 50 years and devoted caregiver, Buster Morrow of Roswell, NM; William "Artie" Morrow, son, and his wife, Julie, of Roswell, NM; Chris Morrow, son, of Albuquerque, NM; Toni Berg, sister, and her husband, Neil, of Albuquerque, NM; Brenda Morrow, daughter-in-!aw, Roswell, NM; Helen Williams, sister-in-law, and her husband, Don, Ruidoso, NM; David Morrow, grandson, and his wife, Sarah, of Austin, Tx; Crystal O'Connor, granddaughter, and her husband, Don, of Roswell, NM; Josh Morrow, grandson, Roswell, NM; Cierra Boyd, granddaughter, and her husband, Mark of Cedar Hill, TX; Mikah Dunne, granddaughter, Albuquerque, NM; nine beautiful great grandchildren who always made her smile; nieces and nephews, extended family and friends. Gloria was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter, Tamara "Tami" Michelle Morrow who passed away at age 13 in 1973, and her son, Darrel "Dee" Morrow who passed away at age 50 in 2008. Pallbearers will be Artie Morrow, Chris Morrow, David Morrow, Josh Morrow, Don O'Connor, and Tom Jordan. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Kenny, Buster's co-workers and friends from the Highway Department and caring neighbors. The family would like to thank the nurses and patient care technicians at the dialysis center for their care and concern over the past eight years. Gloria shared many stories about her time spent with her "second family." Special thanks also go out to Dr's Adhi, Nelson, Feroze, French, Wenner and all of their kind and compassionate Staff and to Encompass Home Health staff who provided care for Gloria. One of Gloria's favorite scriptures was John 14: 1-3, "Let not your heart be troubled; ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also."
