James Lawrence "Larry" Nieto

James Lawrence “Larry” Nieto peacefully slipped into paradise on Wednesday, November 18, 2020, surrounded by the love of his family. Honoring Larry’s wishes, no services will be held. Larry was born on Wednesday, May 27, 1953, in Roswell, NM to Joe Nieto and Guadalupe Barrera Nieto, both of whom preceded him in death. He was a man of many talents and vision. Larry loved to improve everything around him, and he loved to make things beautiful. He loved old westerns, old Kung-Fu, and Greek mythology movies. Larry loved listening to ALL genres of music. He developed a relationship with God later in his life. Larry missed his mom every day and looked forward to their reunion one day in heaven. He had a love for his Hispanic culture which showed in his home as he decorated it with a lot of love and attention. Larry was especially proud of his grandchildren and treasured the times he was able to spend with them. SURVIVORS: Larry is survived by his children: Joaquin (Shelly) Nieto, Marissa (Marcus) Gonzales, Anthony Paul Medina-Archuleta, Melissa “Rose” Jansson and Gabriel Nieto; nine grandchildren that he adored: Analicia Nieto (Rickey), Elisianna Nieto (Mario), Joaquin Nieto II, Gabrielle Gonzales, Xavier Gonzales, Bella Jansson, Angelina-Jo Nieto, Oliver Jansson and Avi Milla Gonzales; two great-grandchildren: Rickey Don Merryfield III and Esliana Gomez; siblings left behind to cherish his memory: Sylvia (Willie) Diaz, Yolanda (Smiley) Ornelas, Esther Gibson as well as his youngest brother, Ralph “Fito” Macias, with whom he shared his birth date. Loved ones preceding Larry in death are Raphael Macias (Step-Father), Tino B. Nieto, (brother), Faye Orona (sister), Elizar Nieto (infant brother), Joseph Lopez (nephew), Guillermo Diaz (nephew), Robert Gibson (brother-in-law) and JoAnn Nieto (sister-in-law); and numerous aunts, uncles, grandparents, specials friends, and extended family members. Special thank you to Naomi from Community Home Care who took such great care of him. He was grateful for your friendship. Also to ALL of you who checked on him and readily offered their prayers and friendship.
