Jane Sims

A graveside service will be held for Jane Sims, 80, of Dexter at 11:00 am , Saturday, February 28, 2009 at South Park Cemetery with Johnny Gonzales officiating. Jane passed away February 25, 2009. Jane was born on October 8, 1928 in Alliance, Ohio to John and Marcia Coldsnow. Jane and her parents moved to Maywood, California in 1945. Jane worked and retired from Kerr Glass after 40 years of service. Jane lived in Maywood up until 2005 when she then moved to Dexter, NM to live with her daughter and be close to her family. Jane enjoyed playing UNO with her son-in-law, John and great-granddaughter, Lacyanne. It could be 1:00 in the morning and she would always say “Let’s just play one more game” She also enjoyed her trips to Albuquerque to visit her grandson John, his wife Jeanene and her two great grandchildren, Jaylin and Baby John. Jane enjoyed when Richard her son, and his wife would visit and they would take her to lunch at Chili’s or Golden Corral. She couldn’t leave without having a Strawberry Daquri from Chili’s. Jane was very fond of animals especially cats. One of her favorite’s was a big orange and white cat named “Pumpkin”, he was her companion for 17 years. She will be missed by her other cat “Little Bit” that she hand raised from two weeks old. Jane is survived by one daughter, Becky and husband John Kerestes, of Dexter NM.; two sons, Richard Clauser and wife Betsy of Las Vegas, NV and John Clark and wife, Kathy of Needles, CA; six grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Jane is preceded in death by her husband, Montgomery P. Sims and her parents John and Marcia. Jane will be dearly missed by all her good friends in California. The family would like to say “Thank You’ to all the doctors and nurses at Eastern New Medical Center who took care of our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother while she was there, and a special “Thank You” to all of you in the Intensive Care Unit.
