Jeffrey McClain

Jeffrey Lynn McClain was born April 17, 1956 to Austin Avis and Marie Agnes (Pack) McClain in Roswell, New Mexico, and passed away on February 18, 2013. Jeff was the youngest of seven children. He is survived by his sisters, Shirley Ann Weldon of Roswell, New Mexico and Verna and husband Ron King of El Paso, Texas, and his brother Municipal Judge Charles W. and wife Vicki McClain of Dexter, New Mexico. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters, Nona V. Bohanon Stroshine, and Karen Faye McClain, his brother Austin Dwayne McClain, brother-in-law J.W. Weldon, and his great-nephew Sgt. Christopher Sanders. Nieces and nephews are Kelly Sanders, Michael Sanders, Marte Reavis, Carol Ann McLeod, Debbie Buss, Barbra J. Noland, Richard Boggs, III, Kathy Smith, Larry King, William Bohanon, Jr., Natalie Steele, Robbie Bohanon, Kimberly Graves, Pamela McClain, Melissa Marquez, Jason McClain, Shawna Krueger, Tonya Rennells, and Holly Piccard, and each of their respective families, all of whom miss him very much. The family will host a memorial and receive guests at 3303 Estrellita, Roswell, New Mexico, on Saturday, February 23, 2013 from 1:00-5:00 p.m., and we invite Jeff’s friends and loved ones to please come and share your memories. Jeff was a wonderful son, brother, uncle, and friend to so very many. He was known to be a bit scrappy in his younger days, but we all knew him for his heart as pure as gold. Jeff worked as a roofer, and a basic jack-of-all-trades. He lived life to the fullest, giving to others all that he had, always lending a hand, a strong back, a quiet ear, a shoulder to lean on. We dearly miss his laughter, and his mischievous smile. God Took Him to His Loving Home God saw him getting tired; a cure was not to be. He wrapped him in his loving arms and whispered ‘Come with me.’ He suffered much in silence, his spirit did not bend. He faced his pain with courage, until the very end. He tried so hard to stay with us but his fight was not in vain, God took him to His loving home and freed him from the pain. Honorary pallbearers are Jeff’s beloved friends LeeRoy Bell, Buddy Castaneda, Joe Jaramillo, Danny Suarez, Joe Wagner, and so many more, too many to mention. The family wants to thank each of you for the love you have given him throughout the years. Services are under the direction of Anderson-Bethany Funeral Home and Crematory.
