Jimmy Lee Pharis

Jimmy Lee Pharis, 88, of Dexter, New Mexico, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of faith, love, and service that will be cherished by all who knew him. Jimmy was born on January 24, 1938, in Swink, Oklahoma. He passed peacefully in his home on June 16, 2026. He lived a life marked by hard work, dedication, and an unwavering commitment to his family and faith. From 1962 to 1963, he proudly served his country as a mechanic in the military, applying the skills and determination that would characterize his life. Jimmy worked in the cotton fields as a young man, later in feed yards and as a carpenter. He retired from the Levi Strauss Company in 1997 after 26 years of service. On August 20, 1963, Jimmie married the love of his life, Norma Hubbard. Together they built a home founded on love, devotion, and strong Christian values. Norma preceded him in death, but the love they shared remained a guiding force throughout his life. In 1978, Jimmie became a member of the Assembly of God Church. From that day forward, serving God became his life's mission. His faith was evident in the way he lived, the kindness he showed others, and the example he set for his family. He devoted himself to sharing God's love, encouraging those around him, and living a life of Christian service. He honored God through his grateful attitude for the biggest and smallest of things. Jimmie was a devoted father who found his greatest joy in his family. He is survived by his son, Edward Pharis and wife Rhonda of Dexter, New Mexico; daughter Donna Brasher and husband Ray of Lubbock, Texas; and daughter Nancy Pharis of Lubbock, Texas. Those who knew Jimmy will remember his big laugh, strong faith, love for fishing, and steadfast devotion to God and family. If he could share a final thought, he would tell everyone to love the Lord with their whole heart. While his passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who loved him, they take comfort in knowing that he is reunited with his beloved Norma and resting in the presence of the Lord he faithfully served for so many years. Jimmy will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his family, friends, church, and all who were blessed to know him. His life stands as a testament to faith, perseverance, and the enduring power of God's love. Family visitation will be held at Anderson Bethany Funeral Home on June 19th at 9:00 am. to 11:00 am. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am with burial to follow at General Douglas L. McBride Veteran’s Cemetery. A meal will be served for family following the service.
