Jimmy Mac Tarvin

Jimmy Mac Tarvin (Jim), 77, passed away on the 1st of May 2023 in his home in Roswell, NM. Jim was born on April 11, 1946, to Jim Mack and Tomer Lee Tarvin in Roswell, NM where he resided until his passing. He met his wife of 56 years, Pearl Fay Ivie (Fay) in Roswell and they were married November 8, 1965. They were together until her passing on January 18, 2021, during which time they had and raised five children together. Jim enlisted in the United States Army at a young age where he served in Korea and Vietnam. During his service to his country, he was awarded several medals including the Purple Heart. After he was discharged and prior to retiring, Jim worked in the oil fields and was a truck driver for various companies for over 20 years. Jim was an avid car collector and loved to restore them. One of his prized possessions is a 1959 Ranchero, which he and his wife Fay restored together and took regularly to car shows in and around the Roswell area for which they won various trophies. He was very proud of his Ranchero. He was an all-around do-it-yourself man who loved to work on his cars and putter in his yard. He and his wife were very creative. They often made and sometimes sold various yard décor made from wood and metal. Jim was a very proud and private person who loved his family very much and he is loved and missed by all his family and friends, more than he will know. Jim is preceded in death by his parents Jim Mack Tarvin and Tomer Lee Tarvin, his siblings Gene Kenneth Tarvin, Joyce Josephine Tarvin MacFarland, Richard Boyce Tarvin, Claud Hale Tarvin, Sue Ann Tarvin Cowden, and Jerry Lonnie Tarvin, his grandchildren Cory Louis Maudsley and Desiree Michelle Maurer, and his beloved wife Pearl Fay Tarvin. He is survived by his remaining siblings, older brother Larry Neil Tarvin of Roswell, NM, younger brother Bill Dean Tarvin of Grand Junction, CO, and his sisters Jewel Tarvin Rosas of Henderson, NV and Tomer Lee Tarvin Stinson of Realto, CA. Those left to eternally treasure and cherish the memories of Jim are his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and various nieces and nephews. Jim’s children are Jimmy Elliot and wife Cheri Tarvin of Ruidoso, NM, twins Danny Joe Tarvin and Tammy Sue Maudsley of Roswell, NM, Jinny Fay and husband Kenneth Lee of Levelland, TX, and Rose Ann and husband Richard Brown of Dexter, NM. Jim and Fay’s family continued to grow with the addition of many grandchildren and great grandchildren. His grandchildren include Cheryl, Aletha, Jacinda, and Jimmy Ray Tarvin, Cody Maudsley and wife Jennifer Maudsley, Brandon Tarvin, Amanda Wheeler, Jimmy Richard Brown and wife Jacinta (Jay) Brown, Tristen Brown, Ethan Mobbley and wife Marrissa Mobbley, Tyrael Mobbley and wife Melissa Mobbley, and their sisters Chrystal Buescher and husband Marshall Buescher, Destiny Maurer, and Courtney Maurer and spouse Rosa. Great grandchildren include Dakota, Thomas, Jennifer, and Jimmy Michael Tarvin, Janaey, Liam, Gabriel, and Paisley Brown, Lillie Browning, Chancey Brown, Korrie Maudsley, Chloe, Kadin, and Noah Buescher, Adalynn Mobbley, and Croatia Mobbley. Jim’s nieces and nephews are too numerous to name, but they all love and miss him dearly.
