JOHN PAUL SEDILLO, 78, passed away on Saturday, November 26, 2020, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Please take a moment and share a kind thought or memory with John’s family at www.andersonbethany.com. SERVICES: A Memorial Service for John will be held at Anderson Bethany on Thursday, December 3, 2020, at 11:00 AM. On September 6, 1942, John was born to Marcos and Beatrice Sedillo. He was a Capitan High School graduate. John was the beloved husband of Shirley Sedillo, whom he married on April 1, 1967, in Reno, Nevada. Prior to retiring, he worked for the United States Government, where he was a firefighter, special investigator, and a smokejumper. Most of John’s career was in California, he then moved back to Capitan, New Mexico, where he retired. He moved to Roswell, New Mexico fourteen years ago. John was loved very much by his family and will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew him. His family was the most important thing to him in life. John was very devoted to his wife, sons, and grandchildren, and their siblings. SURVIVORS: Left to treasure memories of John are his loving wife, Shirley Sedillo; children: Rodney Sedillo and wife Jennifer of Tampa, Florida, Darren Sedillo of Roswell, New Mexico; grandchildren: Paul Sedillo of Roswell, New Mexico, Wiley, Osborne, Alexandria of Tampa, Florida; brothers: Marcus Sedillo and wife Inge of Capitan, New Mexico, Joseph Sedillo of Las Lunas, New Mexico, Eddie Sedillo of Capitan, New Mexico; half-brother, Joe Torres and wife Susan of Albuquerque, New Mexico; sister, Helen Quinones and husband Armando of La Luz, New Mexico; as well as many nephews and nieces. PRECEDED: John is Preceded in death by his parents, Marcos and Beatrice Vigil Sedillo. “YOU NEVER SAID GOODBYE” You never said I'm leaving You never said goodbye. You were gone before I knew it, And only God knew why. A million times I needed you, A million times I cried. If love alone could have saved you, You never would have died. In life I loved you dearly, In death I love you still. In my heart you hold a place, That no one could ever fill. It broke my heart to lose you, But you didn't go alone For part of me went with you, The day God took you home.
