Jose Gerardo Ledezma

Jose Gerardo Ledezma (Jerry), 56, of Roswell, NM, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 16, 2017. A Rosary will be recited on Wednesday, May 24, 2017, 2:00 PM, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 506 S. Lincoln, Roswell, NM. Funeral Mass will follow at 3:00 PM. On September 8, 1960, Jose was born to Jesus and Andrea Ledesma in Durango, Durango, Mexico. He married the love of his life, Sylvia Guerrero Ledesma on June 10, 1989, in Roswell, NM. Jose (Jerry) was a man of many talents; he enjoyed drawing, sewing, designing, creating bags, leatherworking and silk screening. Jose also had other hobbies which included, riding his Harley, hunting, watching westerns and listening to music. He had an extraordinary love for animals of all kinds. Jose (Jerry) enjoyed spending time with his children, and grandchildren; he loved his family more than anything else. He had a personality that would make anyone laugh, and there wasn’t a day that Jose wasn’t joking around. Jose (Jerry) would always make the best of every situation, seeing the golden lining that sometimes couldn’t be seen by others. He was passionate about helping those in need and had a giving heart that would put the needs of others above his own. Jose (Jerry) is survived by his loving wife, Sylvia; six children: David Edward Salas and wife, Alice and children: David, Miranda, Cassandra, Letticia Ledesma, and children: Joe Hernandez, Victor Contreras, Sonia Matta and fiancé, John Trevino and children: Breana Ledesma and fiancé, Dominick Carabajal, Champagne Matta, Steven Matta, Irainia Matta, Ivy Longoria and fiancé, Sergio Silva and children: Angel Longoria, Rudy Longoria, Daniel Longoria, Jerryme Ledesma and wife, Danielle and children: Andrea Ledesma, Aaron Ledesma, Ariana Ledesma, Jerica Ledesma and fiancé, James Mapp; he helped raise Breana, Champagne, Steven, Iraina, and saw them as his own children; one great-grandchild, Sylvia Carabajal; parents: Jesus and Andrea Ledesma; siblings: Estella Ledesma from Lubbock, TX, Terry Flores from Midland, TX, Jesse Ledesma and wife, Irma from Lubbock, TX, Vicenta Rodriguez and husband, Larry from Lubbock, TX, Ralph Ledesma from Lubbock, TX, Richard Ledesma and wife, Francis from Lubbock, TX, Gilbert Ledesma and wife, Marry Ann from Lubbock, TX, Andy Ledesma from Lubbock, TX, Sylvia Cabello and husband, Joe from Lubbock, TX, Laura Ledesma from Lubbock, TX; numerous nephews and nieces. The Family would like to thank Francisco and Juana Arreola, as well as Pancho and Trinie Rodriguez for all of their love and support. This tribute was written in honor of Jose by his family.
