A memorial service will be held at Christ Church on Friday, June 5, 2026 at 10:00 AM. Joseph Joey Keith Romero was born on December 27, 2006, to Alicia Pinkerton in Las Cruces, New Mexico. From the moment he arrived, Joseph brought energy, laughter, and a bright spirit that touched everyone who knew him. Joseph loved life with a passion that was unmistakable. He enjoyed skating with J.R. and Josiah, spending time outdoors, and especially cherished hunting trips with Lee, Ron, and Mack Chase. Whether he was gaming on his Xbox, fishing, camping, rapping, or cracking jokes, Joseph had a gift for making people laugh and bringing joy to those around him. He treasured time with his cousins, loved his car, and enjoyed spending time around the hobbies he loved, including time at the range. Joseph also shared countless adventures “running a muck” with his friends Robbie and Gage, creating memories that will be held close forever. Joseph’s presence was bold, loving, and unforgettable. His family and friends will carry his laughter, his energy, and his big heart with them always. Those left to cherish and treasure memories of Joseph are his fiancé, Theresa Ann Wheeler; mother, Alicia Elaine Pinkerton; grandparents: Marvin Clements and Joyce Pinkerton; great-grandparents: Ervin Kent Knecht and Doris Loretta Knecht; siblings: Mireya Romero, and Jonathan Pinkerton; aunts and uncles: John and Lorretta Rice, Daine and Lee Kennedy, Angela and Jeremiah Thompson, Karen Knecht, Carol and Ed Rierson, and Betty Hall; cousins: Amara Clements, Samuel Dees, John Michael Rice, Lukas Rice, Joshua Thompson, Josiah Thompson, Jacob Thompson, Jonah Thompson, Cash Cervantes, Serenity and Josh Sorg; close friends: Robbie, Gage, Violet, and Alex; pet: Ganja Piranha Sativa. He will be missed by his friends and family. Joseph’s family would like to give a special thank you to Diane and Lee Kennedy for the hunting trips.
