Julianita (Julia) Jaramillo

A rosary will be recited for Julianita (Julia) L. Jaramillo, 88, of Roswell at 7 pm Sunday, June 8, 2008, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Funeral services for Julia will be at 10 am Monday, June 9, 2008, at St. John’s with burial to follow in South Park Cemetery. Julia passed away Wednesday, June 4, 2008, at her home surrounded by the love of her family. Julia was born on May 26, 1920 to Florentino Lucero and Cesaria Abreyo Lucero in Encino, NM. She and Frank Jaramillo were married January 8, 1940; Frank preceded Julia in death. Frank, Julia and their family moved from Carlsbad to Roswell in 1965. Julia was a very loving, caring and giving person ready to help in any task her eyes could see. At many funerals in the family, she was the sergeant and was good at giving her orders. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, the Senior Circle, and the Joy Center. Julia and Popo (Frank) played an important part in the lives and upbringing of their grandchildren. Julia is survived by her six children, Joe L. Jaramillo and his wife, Margaret, Edward L. Jaramillo, Patricia Romero and her husband, Celso Romero Sr., Antonia Jaramillo Morales, Francisca A. Rubio, and JoAna Lee Carrillo and her husband, Johnny, all of Roswell; three sisters-in-law, Librada Garcia of Albuquerque, Emma J. Aguilar of Las Cruces, and Tomasita Chavez of Encino; twenty-six grandchildren, including Bobby Joe Trujillo, who lived the first four years of his life with his grandparents; sixty-three great-grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Julia was preceded in death by her parents, Florentino and Cesaria Lucero; a daughter, Sally Mae Trujillo; two sons, Arturo and Baby Jaramillo; a brother, three sisters; and two granddaughters, Anabelle Jaramillo and Serena Romero. Pallbearers will be Bobby Joe Trujillo, Johnny Ray Sanchez Sr., Raymond Romero, Lorenzo Pena, Deena Trujillo, Patrick H. Olguin, JoAna Carrillo, and Deborah Jaramillo. Honorary pallbearers will be her grandchildren. The family would like to give a special thank you to her caregivers; granddaughter, Deborah D. Jaramillo, son, Edward Jaramillo and daughter, Antonia Morales.
