Linda Sue Weir Chapin

Linda Sue Weir Chapin, 68, peacefully passed away at home on February 21, 2015. She was born on October 21, 1946 in Gatesville, Texas. Linda attended elementary school in Moshiem, Texas and grew up in the surrounding area of Waco, Texas. She married Olin Wayne Chapin in Roswell, New Mexico on September 15, 1971. Linda had a soft heart for animals, evidenced by the many pets she loved over the years. She referred to her sons’ dogs as her "granddogs". Her fondness was spending time around children, watching them play and enjoying the sound of their laughter. A special place in her heart was for her nephews, nieces, grandchildren and great-grandsons. As a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Roswell, she faithfully studied the Word as part of her Sabbath School activities. Attending church camp meetings with her family during the summer months was a special joy. She strived to live the Word by demonstrating a loving spirit, having a forgiving heart and thinking of others before herself. Linda shared her wisdom and advice in a gentle voice and a warm hug. She will be missed by those who knew and loved her. Linda is survived by her husband Olin Wayne Chapin; two sons, J. Charles Weir and wife Christina of Hagerman and David Wayne Chapin of Craig, Colorado. She was preceded in death by her son, Ricky Lynn Weir; her parents, John Rueben Weir and Ina Belle Penn Weir; her three brothers Jack Ruben “Junior” Weir, Jerry Weir, Jackson Weir; and two sisters Wanda Moffett and her twin sister Ruth Kelley. Pastor Ken Davis will celebrate a Memorial Service for Linda on Sunday, March 8, 2015 at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, 2915 South Union in Roswell, NM. Life I want you to experience that which I wish I did. Don’t do those things I do and that others tell you to do, if you know those things are wrong. Do only those things that are good, righteous and honest: those things that do no harm to others or self, those things that teach a lesson in life. Experience life and love. Not only love of your fellow man but that of God, for God is love and is the whole essence of love. Be kind to yourself and to others. Take no one for granted.
