Lois Galavez-Edwards

Graveside services for Lois Jean Galavez-Edwards, 76, will be held at 10 am Friday, August 31, 2012 at South Park Cemetery with Pastor Rick Hale officiating. Lois passed away August 28, 2012 in Roosevelt, Utah. Visitation will be Thursday, August 30, 2012 at 6 pm – 8 pm at Anderson-Bethany Funeral Home. Lois was born to Clifford and Emma Lankford on July 1, 1936 in Posey County, Indiana. She was a loving mother and grandmother and will be missed and loved. She enjoyed sewing and quilting, gardening and canning the food she grew and always sharing her bounty with others. Lois had a heart for the disabled and the mentally ill; always willing to extend her helping hand. Most of all, she loved her family. Those left to cherish her memory are her three children, Tonia Pemberton and her husband, Mike of Roswell; Vickie Sweeney and her husband, David of Roswell and Jeff Galavez and his wife, Sharon of Hobbs, NM; grandchildren, Justin Chad Sweeney, Scott David Sweeney, Timothy Galavez, Jason Galavez, Heather Galavez and Nick Galavez; great -grandchildren, Tyller Sweeney, Jaycee Sweeney, Sorcha Sweeney, Jeremiah Sweeney, Aidan Sweeney, Briana Galavez, Kylee Galavez and Anthony Galavez; her sister, Marcella Megason of Longview, TX; a special friend, Frieda Baker of Hobbs, NM and her niece, Robin Calkins of Roosevelt, Utah. Preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Emma Lankford; her husbands, Pedro Antonio Galavez and John Edwards, her siblings, Robert Lankford, Delmar Lankford and Bertha Lankford Deal.
