Ludie Mae Nichols

LUDIE BANKS NICHOLS Oct 12, 1922-May 26, 2018 Last Saturday morning in Little Rock, AR, the Lord touched Ludie Banks Nichols and then she slept. On October 12, 1922 in Grady, AR, Nat and Ida Elizabeth Burke Banks were blessed with a beautiful baby daughter, Ludie. When Ludie was three years old, the family moved back to Maud, TX, where Ludie attend school and church. Ludie married Ervin Nichols on March 20, 1942 in Texarkana, AR. In June 1942, he entered the service. Ervin returned from WWII when it ended and they settled on a farm three miles west of Vera, TX. In January 1959, the family moved to Roswell, NM. Ludie made a public profession of her acceptance of Lord Jesus as her Savior at the Forest Baptist Church in Dallas and was baptized. Ludie was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church for over 55 years. After she retired from ENMMC, she was able to enjoy socials with her Sunday School Class, the Joy Center, Senior Center and Red Hatters. However in 2014, Ludie suffered with several health issues and moved to live with her youngest daughter, Jane (Chuck) Weier in Warren, AR. She also enjoyed her First Baptist Church family and the Senior Center in Warren. Ludie was preceded by her loving husband, Ervin; parents; youngest son, Cary Don; great-granddaughter, Lucy; and other loved ones. Ludie is survived by children: Nick, Dianne, Margaret, and Jane; two sister-in-laws: Audrey Holt, Jean Rogers; grandchildren: Sibrina, Samantha, John, Diana, Katy, Debra, Elizabeth, Kevin, Kelly, Greg, Scott, Tommy, and Justin; many great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Friday 6-8 pm at Anderson-Bethany. Graveside service is scheduled for 10am Saturday at South Park with her nephew, The Rev Rex Holt officiating. Following with be Ludie’s “Celebration of Life” at the Calvary Baptist Fellowship Hall. RSVP luncheon contact: Elizabeth at 254-702-2608.
