Funeral services for Maria Espinoza, 89, of Roswell, will be held at 7pm Wednesday, Sept. 29, 2010 at Anderson-Bethany Funeral Home with Epi Manuel Acosta officiating. Maria passed away Monday, Sept. 27, 2010 surrounded by her family. Visitation will be Wednesday 9am to 9 pm at the funeral home. Mi Abuela Linda Now gone to Heaven to rest No more suffering and pain you felt upon your chest. It’s “okay” Mi Wela you can go home now. We will miss you so much but will never forget. All the loving memories we shared. Like the times in Piedras Negras, Mexico or even the times we made tamales on Christmas and having fun losing all my pennies to you playing Loteria on New Years. I know you’re not here in person, but I know you’re spirit will be with us always, so just knowing every breath we take and and every step we make you will always guide us and protect us. Always, Love Your Great Granddaughter, Amanda Padilla Maria was born in Asherton, Texas on Feb. 13, 1921 to Catarino and Cresencia Martinez. She was a hard worker, working as a farm laborer most of her life. She loved her family very much. She lived in Piedras Negras, Choahuila and Eagle Pass, TX in her younger years. She resided in Roswell for twenty years. Maria touched many lives always helping those in need or hungry and had her doors open to all. “Abuela, we’re going to miss you very much.” Maria is survived by three sons, Hilario Guerrero and his wife, Inez, Daniel DeLaCruz and his wife, Nande, and Samuel DeLaCruz; two daughters, Reina Ortiz and her late husband, Robert, Marisela Herrera and her husband, Jose; two grandchildren and one grandson that she raised as her own, Connie DeLaCruz and her husband, Ivan and Vicky DeLaCruz and her husband, Victor, and Juan Espinoza; twenty-two grandchildren, forty-two great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Catarino and Cresencia Martinez; her husband, Eulalio Guerrero;two grandsons, Roberto Guerrero and Daniel DeLaCruz,; one brother,Santiago Martinez; one son in-law, Robert Ortiz. María nació en Asherton, Texas el 13 de febrero de 1921 a Catarino y Martínez Cresencia. Era una gran trabajadora, trabajando como obrero agrícola la mayor parte de su vida. Ella amaba mucho a su familia. Ella vivió en Piedras Negras, Choahuila y Eagle Pass, TX en sus años más jóvenes. Ella residía en Roswell durante veinte años. María tocó muchas vidas siempre ayudar a los necesitados o con hambre y tenía sus puertas abiertas a todos. "Abuela, te vamos a extrañar mucho." María le sobreviven tres hijos, Hilario Guerrero y su esposa, Inés, Daniel DeLaCruz y su esposa, Nande, y DeLaCruz Samuel, dos hijas, Reina Ortiz y su esposo, Robert, Marisela Herrera y su esposo, José, dos nietos y un nieto que crió como su propio Connie DeLaCruz y su esposo, Iván y Vicky DeLaCruz y su marido, Víctor, y Juan Espinoza; veintidós nietos, cuarenta y dos bisnietos y seis bisnietos grandes. Fue precedido en la muerte de sus padres, Catarino y Cresencia Martínez, su esposo, Eulalio Guerrero, dos nietos, Roberto Guerrero y Daniel DeLaCruz,; un hermano, Santiago Martínez, un yerno, Roberto Ortiz.
