Maria Lucero

A memorial service will be held for Maria Lucero, 70, of Roswell, at 7 pm Sunday, June 7, 2009 at Anderson-Bethany Funeral Home. A funeral service will be at 10 am Monday, June 8, 2009 at Anderson-Bethany Funeral Home with Pastor Tim officiating. Burial will follow at South Park Cemetery. Maria passed away on Wednesday, June 3, 2009 in Albuquerque at University Medical Center. Maria was born on October 30, 1938 to Pedro and Maria Ramos in Aspermont, Texas. She enjoyed cooking for her children, loved her grandchildren and was a beautiful mother always there for her children, everybody and anyone in need. She was also a mom to anyone that came around. She was a very happy person, loved to listen to music, dance and raised several grandchildren. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her husband, Joe; seven daughters, Joann Otero and her husband, John of Ruidoso Downs, Patricia Garcia of Roswell, Inez Lucero of Roswell, Mary Lou Vasquez and her husband, Mark Sr.of Roswell, Maggie Hernandez and her husband, Tony of Roswell, Cynthia Lucero and her companion Chris Salazar of Roswell and Lisa Lucero of Roswell; two sons, Edward Lucero Sr. and his wife, Adriana and Joseph Greg Lucero II all of Roswell; 28 grandchildren, Adam Perez, Eric Otero, Johnny Otero Jr., Adrian Otero, Manuel Garcia Jr., Christopher Garcia, Natividad Garcia, Natasha Garcia, Renee Antoinette Ramos, Mark Vasquez Jr., Matthew Vasquez, Israel Hernandez, Kimberly Hernandez, Veronica Hernandez, Barbie Marie Otero, William Anthony Otero, Desarae Lucero, Stefany Lucero, Brandon Lucero, Frank Anthony Montoya, Jeremiah Montoya, Mariah Montoya, Nicholas Montoya, Edward Jesus Lucero II, Adrian Christopher Lucero, Joseph Lucero III, Joshua Lucero and Seth Lucero and 26 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Maria was preceded in death by her parents, and 9 family members. Pallbearers will be Adam Perez, Nati Garica, Renee Ramos, Mark Vasquez Jr., Israel James Hernandez, William Anthony Otero, Edward Jesus Lucero II, Brandon Xxavier Lucero and Joseph Lucero III.
