Mary Goodin

Mary Ann (Synnott) Goodin Born Nov 19, 1936 Died March 15, 2011 Mary Goodin of Roswell, NM went to the angels on March 15, 2011 after a long battle with lung cancer. She was born in Wausau, Wisconsin, and attended St. James Grade School . She was a 1954 graduate of Wausau Senior High. She married Roger Goodin in December of 1956. She was a devoted military wife and spent the majority of her adult life in Cheyenne, WY before retiring to Roswell, NM. She was a loving wife and mother and a fabulous cook. She enjoyed her family, reading, crossword puzzles, turtle sundaes and HGTV. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Roger Goodin of Roswell, NM, two daughters, Lisa Goodin of Cheyenne, WY, Laura Stevens of Mckinney, TX, one granddaughter, Ashley Stevens of Mckinney, TX, three sisters , Marjorie Christianson of Minneapolis, MN, Kathleen Bush of Wausau, WI and Pat Sullivan of Madison, WI, six nieces and nephews, and three granddogs, Reilly, Charlye and Sophie. She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her parents Mark and Laura Synnott of Wausau, WI and an infant son, Matthew. Arrangements will be handled by Anderson-Bethany Crematory however there will not be an open memorial service at this time. The family would like to extend their warmest appreciation and deepest gratitude to the Kymera Cancer Center and Sunset Villa for their kindness and care, and to all of our family and friends. From her dearest youngest daughter: THERE WILL BE A DAY I TRY TO HOLD ONTO THIS WORLD WITH EVERYTHING I HAVE, BUT I FEEL THE WEIGHT OF WHAT IT BRINGS, AND THE HURT THAT TRIES TO GRAB. THE MANY TRIALS THAT SEEM TO NEVER END . HIS WORD DECLARES THIS TRUTH , THAT WE WILL ENTER IN HIS REST WITH WONDERS ANEW. BUT I HOLD ONTO THIS HOPE AND THE PROMISE THAT IT BRINGS, THAT THERE WILL BE A PLACE WITH NO MORE SUFFFERING. THERE WILL BE A DAY, WITH NO MORE TEARS, NO MORE PAIN AND NO MORE FEARS, THERE WILL BE A DAY WHEN THE BURDENS OF THIS PLACE WILL BE NO MORE. WE’LL SEE JESUS FACE TO FACE. BUT UNTIL THAT DAY, WE’LL HOLD ON TO YOU ALWAYS. I KNOW THE JOURNEY SEEMS SO LONG. YOU FEEL YOU’RE WALKING ON YOUR OWN, BUT THERE HAS NEVER BEEN A STEP WHERE YOU’VE WALKED OUT ALL ALONE. TROUBLED SOUL DON’T LOSE YOUR HEART ‘CAUSE JOY AND PEACE HE BRINGS, AND THE BEAUTY THAT’S IN STORE OUTWEIGHS THE HURT OF LIFE’S STINGS. I CAN’T WAIT UNTIL THE DAY WHERE THE VERY ONE I’VE LIVED FOR ALWAYS WILL WIPE AWAY THE SORROW THAT I’VE FACED. TO TOUCH THE SCARS THAT RESCUED ME FROM A LIFE OF SHAME AND MISERY OH THIS WHY, THIS IS WHY I SING THERE WILL BE A DAY, WITH NO MORE TEARS, NO MORE PAIN AND NO MORE FEARS, THERE WILL BE A DAY WHEN THE BURDENS OF THIS PLACE WILL BE NO MORE.
