Monica Romero Meeks

A rosary will be recited for Monica Marie Romero Meeks, 43, of Roswell at 7 pm Friday, April 25, 2008, at Anderson-Bethany Funeral Home Chapel. Monica passed away Wednesday, April 23, 2008, at UMC in Lubbock, Texas. A lifelong resident of Roswell, Monica was born on September 11, 1964 to Trinidad Romero Sr. and Juanita Valdez Romero. She and Robert Meeks were married February 2, 2000 in Las Vegas, NV; Robert survives Monica at the family home. Monica’s children were her life, and her grandson, Dijon, was the apple of her eye. She loved spending time with her family, watching basketball and football on TV, and was a generous loving person. In addition to her husband, Robert, Monica is survived by her children, Aubrey Anna Romero and her companion, Ulysis Johnson and Ambrose Gonzales; her grandson, Dijon; her mother, Juanita Romero; all of Roswell; six sisters, Minnie Sosa and her husband, Frank, of Roswell, Mary Ann Romero of Las Cruces, Angie Barnes and her husband, David, Terry Gauna and her fiancé, Roy Hite, Melissa Romero and her husband, Gerard, and Melinda Romero and her husband, Tommy Lara, all of Roswell; three brothers, Eddie Romero and his wife, Virgie, of Roswell, Robert Romero of Lubbock, TX, and David Romero of Roswell; stepchildren and their families, Bill, Jim. Ralph, Carol, and Polly; stepbrothers-in-law and stepsister-in-law, Ralph, Bill, and Betty; her children’s grandmother and aunt, Martha Gonzales and Barbara Sedillo; nieces and nephews, Frances Dubiel, Cynthia Medrano, both of Roswell, and Frankie Sosa Jr. of Albuquerque, Eddie Romero Jr. of Mesa, AZ, Gregory Romero, Eric Romero both of Roswell, Yvette Coral of Dallas, TX, Michael Angelo Romero, Bridgette Romero both of Las Cruces, Renee Montoya of Phoenix, AZ, Jeanette Montoya of Roswell, David Barnes of Girard, IL, Steven Michael, Kevin, and Mark Romero, all of Lubbock, TX, Aaron Gauna of Amarillo, TX, Ashlee Gauna of Waxahachie, TX, Leroy Jr., and Melanie Fuentez, and Gerard Jr., Gerald, Jerad, and Jerika Morales, all of Roswell; and numerous other nieces, nephews, and family members.
