Paula Salgado

Paula M. Salgado, 76 of Midway, NM passed away in her home surrounded by her family on Sunday, November 27, 2011. Paula was born February 14, 1935 to Apolonio and Josepha Munoz in Fort Stockton, Texas. Paula is survived by her husband, Emilio Salgado for the past 58 years. They had five children who survive her, Wanda Moreno and husband Joe Moreno of Hagerman, Aida Lopez of Dexter, Emilio Salgado Jr. and wife Cecilia Salgado of Roswell, Danny Salgado and partner Nichol Madrid of Roswell, and Patricia Valenzuela and husband Johnny Valenzuela of Roswell. Her 17 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren will miss her dearly. She is preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, and brother. Paula was a Catholic Daughter and a Catholic Cruzista at Immaculate Conception for many years. She loved her hobbies of sewing, crocheting, ceramics and entering them at the ENM State Fair. She loved camping with the family and attending church retreats. She worked at Longhorn Manufacturing Company, Levi Strauss, and retired as a CNA at Eastern New Mexico Medical Center in Roswell. A Rosary for Paula M. Salgado will be recited 7pm, Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at Immaculate Conception in Dexter. Mass will be celebrated 10am, Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at Immaculate Conception in Dexter with Deacon Jesus Herrera officiating. Interment will follow at South Park Cemetery in Roswell. Pallbearers are Eric Salgado, Jeremy Salgado, Matthew Salgado, Stephen Lucero, Fabian Maciel, and Joseph Sedillo. Honorary pallbearers are Joshua Garcia, Michael Carrasco, Dietrick Vasquez-Salgado. Safely Home I am home in Heaven, dear ones; Oh, so happy and so bright! There is perfect joy and beauty In this everlasting light. All the pain and grief is over, Every restless tossing passed; I am now at peace forever, Safely home in Heaven at last. Did you wonder I so calmly Trod the valley of the shade? Oh! But Jesus’ love illuminated Every dark and fearful glade. And He came Himself to meet me In that way so hard to tread; And with Jesus’ arm to lean on, Could I have one doubt or dread? Then you must not grieve so sorely, For I love you dearly still: Try to look beyond earth’s shadows, Pray to trust our Father’s Will. There is work still waiting for you, So you must not idly stand; Do it now, while life remaineth— You shall rest in Jesus’ land. When that work is all completed, He will gently call you Home; Oh, the rapture of that meeting, Oh, the joy to see you come!
