Rudolfo Rudy "Vato" Lucero

A rosary will be recited for Rudolfo Reynaldo “Vato” Lucero Jr. 26, at 7pm on Sunday, September 27, 2009 at Anderson-Bethany Funeral Home Chapel. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 1pm on Monday, September 28, at St. John’s the Baptist Catholic Church with Father Juan Montoya O.F.M. officiating. Burial will follow at South Park Cemetery. Rudy passed away on Wednesday, September 23, 2009 in Roswell. Rudy was born January 14, 1983 to Rudolfo Reynaldo Lucero Sr. and Delicia Herrera Lucero in Roswell. He loved being around his family, spending time with his friends, nieces and nephews. He enjoyed eating, listening to music, watching the Raiders, and he took great pride in his appearance. Rudy was a Great Believer with a lot of Faith in God. He is survived by mother; Delicia Herrera Lucero of the family home, one sister; Lisa Herrera and her husband Carlos of Roswell, one brother; Joe Ray Perez and Amanda of Roswell, his father Rudy Lucero Sr. of Artesia, his step-father (who helped raised him) Frank Perez of Roswell, maternal grandparents; Henry and Rose Herrera of Roswell, paternal grandfather Joe D. Lucero Sr. of Roswell, four uncles; Hachie Herrera, Robert Lucero and his wife Blanca, Gilbert Lucero and his wife Felipa, Raymond Lucero and wife Andrea, his aunts; Yvette Martinez and Leroy, Michelle Herrera and David, Martha Luna and her husband Artie, Theresa Herrera, Josie Espinoza and husband Eddie, Candy Samario and her husband Joe, Eloise Pino-Vasques and her husband Gabriel, Monica Garcia, and Dalene Lucero, nieces and nephews; Carlos, Jacob, and Alyssa Jaramillo, Azariah and Lexi Perez and numerous cousins, great aunts and uncles, and friends and a very special friend, (maja) Angie Samario. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother Maggie Lucero, two uncles; Joe Lucero Jr. and Frank Lucero Sr., one uncle; Henry Sonny Herrera, numerous friends and relatives. Pallbearers will be Carlos “Bandit” Jaramillo, Carlos Jaramillo IV, Hachie Herrera, Phillip Navarette, Sonny Luna, Raul Sepulveda, Gabriel Thyberg and Joe Ray Lucero. Honorary pallbearers will be Martha Luna, Aileen Herrera, Stephanie Herrera, Lisa Gomez, Adriana Leyva, Amber Herrera, Zayleen Thyberg and all nieces and nephews.
