Ruth Rubio Alvarez

On Tuesday, November 20, 2018, our Lord Jesus Christ, sent his angels to take my loving wife, Ruth Alvarez, into heaven. She passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her family. Ruth was born on March 18, 1950, to Elias and Maria Rubio in Juarez, Mexico. While visiting her relatives, she met the love of her life, Jesse Alvarez, in 1976. That same year, after dating three months, they married. This union was blessed with two sons, Jesus and Hector. Ruth was a hard-working individual. She worked for Glover Packing Company and Levi Strauss until they both closed. Ruth worked many years at Mission Arch Nursing Home until she was diagnosed with cancer. She fought a good fight from 2008, and beat it, but in 2017 the cancer returned. No matter how much she fought, she was unable to overcome. The disease won and took her at an early age of 68. An adoring wife, mother, and Grandmother, Ruth lived her life to the fullest, especially tending to her grandsons. Throughout her employment, she met lots of individuals who became friends for life. She was a person who would go out of her way to help anyway she could. During family gatherings she would cook excellent meals. Everyone enjoyed her cooking, especially her Chile Con Carne, and Chile Beans. During Christmas, she would make her fabulous Tamales and Bescochitos that everyone loved. PRECEDING: Loved ones preceding Ruth in death were her parents, Elias and Maria Rubio, sisters: Anna Martinez, Rebecca Rubio, Margarita Ramos; and brother, Eliseo Rubio. SURVIVORS: Left to cherish Ruth’s memory are her husband, Jesse Alvarez; sons: Jesus Alvarez and wife Yvette, and Hector Alvarez; grandsons: Jesus II, Miguel Alvarez, Anthony and Gabriel Aragon; brothers: Ezequiel and wife Mariaelena Rubio, Daniel and wife Virginia Rubio, Eliazar Rubio: sister, Sara Castro; a very special nephew that she raised, Saul and his wife Irma Rubio; numerous sisters in law, nephews, nieces, and cousins. She also leaves behind her adorable chihuahua, Pee-Wee. Special thanks given to Ruth’s daughter in law, Yvette Alvarez, and niece, Claudia Rubio, who were by her side night and day, throughout her fight, until her passing. Special thanks also given to Doctor Araujo and Tony, for extending her life expectancy a little longer. Additional thanks to Anita Ortiz from Hospice, in making Ruth’s life more comfortable at home while assisting the family to accept her passing more easily. PALLBEARERS: Chosen and blessed to serve as Pallbearers are her nephews: George (Vato) Molinar, Joseph Lopez, Manuel and Damien Torrez, her grandson Jesus Alvarez, and her brother Eliazar Rubio. Ruth’s last request was that her brothers, Ezequiel and Daniel Rubio, both minister at her Services. Arrangements have been entrusted to Anderson Bethany Funeral Home. SERVICES: Viewing will be Tuesday, November 27, 2018, from 12:00 PM to 7:00 PM, with Services beginning at 7:00 PM. Interment will be 11:00 AM, Wednesday, November 28, 2018, at South Park Cemetery following a short service at Anderson Bethany Funeral Home. Ruth’s Tribute was gracefully written in her honor by her family. “Adios mi amor hasta que nos veremos cuando me toque a mi estar contigo otras ves mas. Tu Esposo Jesse.”
