Sandra Jane Garcia

Sandra J. Mayfield Garcia, 68, of Roswell, New Mexico, gained her heavenly wings on April 27, 2026. Sandy was born June 18, 1957, in Tucson, Arizona, to Elmer A. Mayfield and Elizabeth J. Nunez Shank. She was the second youngest of five daughters. As the child of a U.S. Air Force serviceman, she spent much of her early life traveling and living in various states and countries. She eventually settled in Roswell, New Mexico, where she married and welcomed her first daughter, Sabrina, in 1978. In 1980, she married Manuel Garcia, and together they welcomed their son, Marsial, in 1981. In 1983, Sandy and her family moved to Pampa, Texas, where they later welcomed twins, Mandel and Sasha, in 1986. Sandy spent most of her life in Pampa, working as cosmetologist and home health provider. In 2023, she returned to Roswell. She had a deep love for her family, the outdoors, her animals, and traveling. In her free time, she enjoyed drawing and painting. Sandy was also a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Briley Dailey, Ruth Parker, and Linda Jennings; her parents, Elmer A. Mayfield and Elizabeth J. Nunez Shank; her maternal grandparents, Robert Shank and Eufracia Nunez Shank; and her paternal grandparents, John Booth and Hazel Morris Booth. Sandy is survived by her sisters, June Grattan of Magna, Utah, and Debra Guillotte of Jacksonville, Texas; her four children, Sabrina Olguin Garcia and partner David of Coleman, Oklahoma; Marsial Garcia and partner of Brianna of Roswell, New Mexico; Mandel Garcia of Lawton, Oklahoma; and Sasha Garcia of Dayton, Texas; as well as the Garcia/Estrada family. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Shaylee Rossiter; D’waine Smith Garcia and partner Kaylee; Lazariae Reyale; William Garcia; Skyler Carroll; Persefanie Garcia; Akasha Ellis; Maribella Garcia; Brealynn Smith; Westlynn Smith; Bobbie Smith; and Amiah Meyer; as well as her great-grandchildren, Aliyah, Manuel, and Zariyahni, along with numerous nieces newphews. Honorary pallbearers will Marsial Garcia, Mandel Garcia, William Garcia, Skyler Carroll, Baudelio “Bobby” Garcia, Cesar Estrada, and Heber Estrada. A viewing will be held on May 6, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 PM at Anderson Bethany Funeral Home & Crematory located at 2609 S. Main St. in Roswell, New Mexico, with services to begin at 1:00PM. Burial will follow immediately at South Park Cemetery. A celebration of life will follow at 2200 Fulkerson Dr. in Roswell, New Mexico.
