Santos Melendez

Santos Melendez passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of faith, strength, and unwavering love for her family. She was born in Col. L. Cárdenas, Meoqui, Chihuahua, where she was raised with the values of hard work, devotion, and deep faith that would guide her throughout her life. As one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, her love for Jehovah shaped her character and gave her strength in every season of life. Santos was a devoted single mother who raised three daughters and one son — Humberto Herrera, Olga Melendez, Maribel Sánchez, and Mirna Jensen — with extraordinary courage, sacrifice, and determination. Through her guidance, wisdom, and unconditional love, she helped shape her children into the professionals and individuals they are today. Her children were her greatest pride and her living legacy. She found great joy in gardening, especially tending to her beautiful rose garden, which reflected her patience, care, and appreciation for life’s simple beauty. Santos faced her illness with remarkable strength, dignity, and faith. Even in difficult moments, she remained steadfast, trusting in Jehovah and continuing to encourage her family. Her resilience and spiritual devotion were an inspiration to all who knew her. She is lovingly remembered by her grandchildren: Kat Herrera, Roman Herrera, Richard Herrera, Ashley Melendez, Bianca Melendez, Briana Sanchez, Yesenia Sanchez, and Maribel Sanchez. She was preceded in death by three beloved grandchildren: Omar Lopez, Pamela Lopez, and Miguel Arras, who remain forever in the hearts of our family. Her love, faith, and words of guidance will continue to live on in her children, grandchildren, and all who were blessed to know her. Funeral services will be held at Anderson-Bethany Funeral Home, 2609 S Main St., Roswell, NM 88203, beginning with a private family gathering on February 27, 2026, from 3:00–4:00 p.m., followed by public visitation from 4:00–7:00 p.m. and a Bible discourse from 7:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m.. A graveside service will take place on February 28, 2026, at 10:00 a.m.. Santos Melendez falleció en paz, dejando un legado de fe, fortaleza y amor incondicional por su familia. Nació en Col. L. Cárdenas, Meoqui, Chihuahua, donde fue formada con valores de trabajo, dedicación y profunda fe que la acompañaron toda su vida. Como Testigo de Jehová, su amor por Jehová guió cada decisión y le dio fuerzas en cada etapa de su vida. Fue una madre ejemplar que, como madre soltera, crió a tres hijas y un hijo — Humberto Herrera, Olga Melendez, Maribel Sánchez y Mirna Jensen — con valentía, sacrificio y determinación inquebrantables. A través de su guía, sabiduría y amor incondicional, formó a sus hijos para convertirse en los profesionales y personas que son hoy. Sus hijos fueron su mayor orgullo y su legado más grande. Encontraba gran alegría en la jardinería, especialmente en el cuidado de su hermoso jardín de rosas, el cual reflejaba su paciencia, dedicación y amor por la belleza de la vida. Santos enfrentó su enfermedad con dignidad, fortaleza y fe firme. Aun en los momentos más difíciles, mantuvo su confianza en Jehová y continuó animando y fortaleciendo a su familia. Su ejemplo de resistencia y devoción espiritual fue una inspiración para todos los que la conocieron. La sobreviven sus queridos nietos: Kat Herrera, Roman Herrera, Richard Herrera, Ashley Melendez, Bianca Melendez, Briana Sanchez, Yesenia Sanchez y Maribel Sanchez. Fue precedida en la muerte por tres nietos amados: Omar Lopez, Pamela Lopez y Miguel Arras, quienes viven por siempre en el corazón de nuestra familia. Su amor, su fe y sus palabras de guía permanecerán para siempre en sus hijos, nietos y en todos aquellos que tuvieron la bendición de conocerla. Los servicios funerarios se llevarán a cabo en Anderson-Bethany Funeral Home, ubicada en 2609 S Main St., Roswell, NM 88203. Las ceremonias comenzarán el 27 de febrero de 2026 con una reunión familiar privada de 3:00 p.m. a 4:00 p.m., seguida de un velorio público de 4:00 p.m. a 7:00 p.m. y un discurso bíblico de 7:00 p.m. a 8:00 p.m. El servicio fúnebre en el cementerio tendrá lugar el 28 de febrero de 2026 a las 10:00 a.m.
