Santos ‘Pacho’ Morales passed away on Sunday, February 16th, 2025, at the age of 87 in Lubbock, TX surrounded by his family. Santos was born on October 21st, 1937, in Valle De Zaragoza, Chihuahua, Mexico to his parents Santos Morales Sr. and Carlota González. Santos ‘Pacho’ Morales was born and raised in Mexico, where he grew up surrounded by his parents and numerous siblings. As the oldest of the brothers, he took on the responsibility of helping his father provide for the family, and his education was limited to the fourth grade. Despite the challenges, he worked tirelessly to support his family and build a foundation for their future. In his adult years, Santos married Estela, and together they raised three beloved children: Leticia, Guadalupe Sr., and Noemi. Driven by a deep desire to ensure a brighter future for their children, Santos and Estela made the courageous decision to move to the United States, seeking greater opportunities for their family. Santos spent the majority of his life working in agriculture, where he developed a love for the outdoors. A man of strong faith, he was dedicated to his spiritual life and made it a priority to take his family to Mass every Sunday. He was also deeply committed to caring for his parents in their later years, and after their passing, he became the patriarch of the family, always offering guidance and support to his siblings. Even after retirement, Santos remained active and engaged, growing green chile, watermelon, cantaloupe, and zucchini to sell. He was a hardworking man, finding joy and purpose in staying busy. In 2007, when Estela suffered a major stroke, Santos became her primary caregiver, providing unwavering love and support until the end of her life. Santos was a man of strength, humor, and charisma, known for his kindness and his ability to bring joy to those around him. His legacy of love, sacrifice, and devotion will live on in the hearts of his children, grandchildren, nieces & nephews, siblings, and all who knew him. Those who remain to cherish Santos’ memories are his children: Leticia Tarin and husband Manuel; Guadalupe Morales Sr. and wife Silvia; daughter, Noemi Morales; grandchildren: Josue Tarin and wife Johanna, Mireya Tarin, Mia Tarin, Guadalupe Morales Jr. and wife Leslie., and Natalie Morales; great-grandchildren, Joel Tarin, Jude Tarin, Luca Morales, & Arlo Morales; siblings: Cuca Licon and (Jose) from Phoenix, AZ, Margarita Chavez and (Cruz) from Roswell, NM, Elva Quimby and (Mario) from Silver City, NM. Also, numerous nieces and nephews. Santos is preceded in death by his wife, Estela; parents: Santos Sr. and Carlota Morales; his; siblings: Raul Morales & wife Carmela, Carlos Morales & wife Yolanda, Josefina Betance & husband Jesus and Celia Portillo & husband Fernando. The pallbearers will be Guadalupe Morales Sr., Josue Tarin, Guadalupe Morales Jr., Raúl Morales Jr, Roberto Morales, & Genaro Flores. The viewing will be at the Anderson Bethany Funeral Home on Friday, February 21st, 2025, from 9:00am - 6:00 pm, followed by the Holy Rosary at 7:00 pm. On Saturday, February 22nd, 2025, at 10:00 am, a funeral mass will be celebrated at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Dexter, NM. The burial will follow after the services at South Park Cemetery (Roswell, NM). Santos will be laid to rest next to his wife Estela. There will be a reception to follow immediately after the services. The family of Santos would like to express their sincere thanks to Cruzita Martinez, his long-term caregiver and family friend, as well as to Carrie Flurry PA-C, ER Nurse Kristin, Dr. Stacey at Eastern Hospital, and the staff of the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit of UMC in Lubbock, TX, especially Nurse Jesse, for their compassionate care and support. Hombre de fuerte fe, estaba dedicado a su vida espiritual y tenía como prioridad llevar a su familia a misa todos los domingos. También estuvo profundamente comprometido con el cuidado de sus padres en sus últimos años y, tras su fallecimiento, se convirtió en el patriarca de la familia, ofreciendo siempre orientación y apoyo a sus hermanos. Incluso después de jubilarse, Santos permaneció activo y comprometido, cultivando chile verde, sandía, melón y calabacín para vender. Era un hombre trabajador que encontraba alegría y propósito al mantenerse ocupado. En 2007, cuando Estela sufrió un derrame cerebral grave, Santos se convirtió en su cuidador principal, brindándole amor y apoyo inquebrantables hasta el final de su vida. Santos era un hombre de fuerza, humor y carisma, conocido por su amabilidad y su capacidad de llevar alegría a quienes lo rodeaban. Su legado de amor, sacrificio y devoción vivirá en los corazones de sus hijos, nietos, sobrinos, hermanos y todos los que lo conocieron. Los portadores del féretro serán Guadalupe Morales Sr., Josué Tarin, Guadalupe Morales Jr., Raúl Morales Jr, Roberto Morales y Genaro Flores. El velorio será en la funeraria Anderson Bethany el viernes 21 de febrero de 2025, de 9:00 a. m. a 6:00 p. m., seguido del Santo Rosario a las 7:00 p. m. El sábado 22 de febrero de 2025, a las 10:00 am, se celebrará una misa fúnebre en la Iglesia Católica Inmaculada Concepción en Dexter, NM. El entierro seguirá después de los servicios en el cementerio de South Park (Roswell, NM). Santos será sepultado junto a su esposa Estela. Habrá una recepción inmediatamente después de los servicios. La familia de Santos desea expresar su más sincero agradecimiento a Cruzita Martínez, su cuidadora desde hace mucho tiempo y amiga de la familia, así como a Carrie Flurry PA-C, la enfermera de emergencias Kristin y la Dra.
