There will be a Funeral Service for Sara at Waymaker Church, 202 S. Sunset Ave. Roswell, NM 88203, on Friday, May 31, 2024, at 11 am. Interment will follow at South Park Cemetery. Sara B. Barraza January 4, 1965 - May 26, 2024 Sarita I left this earth on Sunday, May 26th, I traded it for heaven and to be reunited with my parents, Martina Barraza Carrasco, and Manuel Carrasco. They had me on January 4th, 1965...that makes me 25 years old. I have had many titles, but my best title has been that of mommy. I was blessed with three beautiful children, Javier (Sonshine), Elisa (Joy), and Alia (Cupcake), one daughter-in-love, Diamond, who blessed me with two grandbabies, Elijah, and Elena. In 1985, I found out what real love was, I married the most wonderful man, Frank. He has loved me through 38 years of marriage with love, compassion, and lots and lots of patience. The man might be a saint! I got to share my life with one beautiful sister, Leticia Guzman. She's my favorite, and her son, Michael Guzman, my favorite. I was also blessed with the best primas that I love dearly, Margarita, Lidia, Alma, and Sylvia, all my favorites. When they are around, there is always a party. Other blessings were my wonderful sisters-in-law, Celia, Ana, Marina, Linda, and Zara. Each made my life complete. They were my favorites. I had many, many, nieces and nephews....each one was my favorite. My friends that were my family: Susan, my soul sister; Lucy, my rock; Nancy, my guidance; Trish who showed me compassion; Sherry, toughened my faith; and Sam...shananigans started, if Sam and I got into mischief it was not our fault...we were left unsupervised! Each one was my favorite. My passion and calling was helping others and this passion led me to nursing. I became a RN and later a BSN, I loved being a nurse. I worked at St. Mary's and ENMC in pediatrics, MCH, Families First, Counseling Association, a School Nurse, and High Desert. Each of these places made me a better person. I love popcorn (butter only), Mexican music, a good dance and children....I love the sound of their laughter and chatter at play. I love people with a good sense of humor. I love to craft and love to make people smile. I pray everyone I met I left better than when we first met. In my honor, practice random acts of kindness, now and a year from now, and when you miss me. You're my favorite.
