Theresa Green

Theresa Rivera Green, our beloved mother, died peacefully with her family gathered at her bedside on March 28, 2008. Theresa was born July 31, 1923 in Sprinkle, Texas to Adela and Santiago Rivera. The family moved to New Mexico in the early 1930’s. They lived in Lake Arthur and Dexter for several years before moving to Roswell in 1976. Theresa was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, five sisters and two beloved grandchildren, Tony Ray and Ben (Blondie) George Jr. Peralta. Theresa is survived by her sister, Dorothy Drennan of Albuquerque, NM and her brother, Jerry Rivera of Roswell, NM. Her legacy will forever be remembered by her children, Dolores Peralta (Ben) of Roswell, NM, Jeanette Green of Amarillo, TX, Jerry Green (Cathy) of Roswell, NM, Frances Lydiard (Murray) of Kamloops, British Columbia, Rosemarie Green (Leroy Bell) of Roswell, NM, and Pauline Jordan (Kim) of Amarillo, TX. Grandma will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by Rudy, Fabian, Teresa and Debbie Peralta, Lisa Gonzalez, Yvette, Gabriel, Natasha Green, Nicole and Danielle Lydiard, Billy and her many wonderful great-grandchildren. Mom never knew a stranger. Mom was an amazing and generous person; she was a person who would truly give you the “shirt off her back”. She thoroughly enjoyed helping people in anyway that she could. Her love for her children and grandchildren were without limits. Often at family gatherings, mom would dance with her children and grandchildren. She loved plants and flowers and we know she is tending to the flower gardens in Heaven. She had a deep abiding love for her Lord Jesus Christ. She was a remarkable mother, grandmother and friend. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her and will never be forgotten. Pallbearers will be Rudy Peralta, Fabian Peralta, Jacob Peralta, Gabriel Green, Billy Jordan and Danielle Lydiard. Honorary pallbearers will be Danny Eaker, Leroy Bell, Hector Moreno, Phillip Moreno and Juan Moreno. The family is grateful for the exceptional support and loving compassion from the staff at Visa Care Hospice and for the many friends and family who visited mom in her last days. A celebration of Theresa’s life will be held at 2:00PM, Thursday, April 3, 2008 at Anderson Bethany Funeral Home and Crematory with Pastor Adam Soliz, officiating. Internment will follow at South Park Cemetery.
