Vera Groseclose

"AND Her children arise up and call her blessed." Proverbs 31:28 Vera "FAVE"Groseclose known to many as MEEMAW, received the hope of her calling according to Christ's purpose on August 18, 2009. Faye was born to Orner & Sue Owen in Roswell,NM , July 19, 1928 and married J.C. Groseclose on February 8, 1948, all who have preceded her in death. She lived the majority of her life in Roswell and Capitan. To the countless family, friends, neighbors and acquaintances she was a HERO! "You are our HERO, a warrior of God's grace...a light that pierces darkness...your heart, like a fire, abounding in grace, a beacon helping others to see." Faye's surviving legacy consists of one son, Jay C.Groseclose, wife Earlene, children Joshua and Janna of Santa Fe, NM; daughter Joan E.Park, husband Brady, daughter Trinity of Capitan and son Denver and his wife Michelle and children Tyler and Ashten of Vukon, OK; daughter Jerel R. Hurley of Capitan and son Jeremy and his wife, Lisa and children Cody, Kalli and Samantha Gearhart and husband Kip of Shawnee,OK. She is also blessed with many brother and sister-in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was also preceded in death by her son -in-law F.D. Hurley, granddaughter Rebecca Amy Park, six brothers: Francis Owen, Omer Owen, Lloyd Owen, Pat Owen, Elbert Owen, Ray Owen, and five sisters: Margaret Liston, Susie Owen, Myrtle Phillips, Jewel Hall, Georgia Gilliland. A celebration of her life will be on Saturday, August 22, 2009 at 10 am at Memory Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery on E. 19th St., Roswell, NM. With Faye’s great-great nephew Rob Thomas will be officiating. Honorary Pallbearers are: Johnny Owen, Oliver Owen, Sonny Rose, Connie Mack Gilliland, Jeeper Gilliland,Kenneth Owen, EmeryOwen, Tommy Owen, The family requests contributions in lieu of flowers be made to the Epilepsy Foundation in memory of Faye Groseclose to honor her granddaughter Janna Groseclose or to Gideons International.
