William Fugate

William David Fugate, age 60, passed away on Saturday, February 24, 2024 at 4:30 A.M. at Casa Maria Health Care Center where he resided. Fugate Sr. and wife Zelma Fugate on December 14, 1963 here in Roswell, NM. He attended El Capitan Elementary School, Sierra Middle School and graduated from Goddard High School. He worked for ITSQuest, Leprino, and was also self-employed. He was an animal lover, especially his casts. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and deer hunting with his father and brothers earlier in his life. He liked to fish at Bonita Lake and hike around in the mountains. His hobbies were reading, cooking, playing video games, listening to his favorite Rock and Roll bands while drinking some beer, and watching football games, especially his team, the Eagles. During his stay at Casa Maria, even thought he was ill, he had a smile on his face, a contagious laugh, and some kind of joke to make. His sense of humor will be missed. William always looked at the bright side of things and was the typical glass half-full type person, trying to be positive throughout his illness. William was preceded in death by his parents: James and Zelma Fugate; his brother James L. Fugate Jr (Jimmy); sister-in-law, Janie Davis-Fugate, late wife of his brother Michael. Those left to cherish memories of William include Mary Fugate, the widow of brother Jimmy, nephew David W. Fugate, wife Valeria, great-nephews Hunter and Phoenix and great-niece Eva; brother Charls K. Fugate and his wife Sue, nephew Chris Fugate, wife Jamey and great nieces Crisha and Latosha, and great-nephew Aaron; nephew Richard, wife Marissa, and great-nephew Vincent; brother Michael R. Fugate, great-nephews Blake and Reese, and nephew James Michael Fugate and great-niece Delilah; sister Kathy Johnson, husband Darrell, niece Melanie Efird, husband Ethan, and great-nephew Augie; nephew Kenneth Adams, wife Korin and great-niece Ava. He is also survived by his neighbors and good friends, Harry and Joyce Darrough. William David will be greatly missed, but we are relieved that he is no longer suffering and is reunited with his parents and brother in Heaven. Per his request there will be no services.
